Afterwards, it would be remembered as "Breakthrough Day." Several different projects for cheap, renewable, non-polluting energy experienced dramatic developments as problems that had previously seemed insurmountable were suddenly viewed from a new and fruitful direction. In a matter of less than a year, many predicted, new, non-polluting energy sources would be providing nearly all of the world's energy.
That's enough for one day, Taylor thought.
Taylor and Maggie had different classes in the morning but met together in a "privacy bubble" Taylor generated for lunch. Taylor was eager to hear what troubles Maggie had been having with the boys, and was surprised to hear there had been very little. "Its like everyone now is so secure in their sexuality and identity now that they either know that I'm gay, or when I tell them they just accept it. They still like looking at me"--Taylor could tell Maggie wasn't entirely displeased by that--"but that's as far as it goes."
"So, no problems then, great!"
Maggie blushed. "Well, no, I wouldn't say no problems. No problems with the boys. Some of the girls who like girls, though, it turns out they really like hot blondes. And they can be persistent about it."
