Ann and the others now slowly made their way through the secret research level of Ann's office. After having Kellie create a portal, Ann led the others through.
"So what's the plan," Felicia asked quietly.
"If I can get to my office I can access the CPU inside of the suits," Ann stated. "I think I can fry the suits."
"And what would happen to ours," Stephanie asked.
"Ours will be fine," Ann said. "I had our systems rerouted so we should be able to function even after the suits are fried."
"That works I guess," Megan said. "I kind of like these things."
Ann turned her head, seeing Megan lumbering forward in her massive suit. The suit was meant to be intimidating, standing taller and being far more well armored than the others. Unfortunately it also meant that stealth wasnt it's best feature.
"Think you can quiet that thing down," Stephanie groaned as her suit now hovered past. "That thing is making so much noise, pretty sure they can hear it on the top floor."
"Are they always like this," Bob the zebra demon asked. Felicia turned toward Bob, shrugging her shoulders as she now turned towards her boyfriend. "I cant believe you followed me Adam," she hissed.
"What babe," Adam smirked. "Cant let you do this alone. Besides, if the anti magic stuff turns on your going to need me." Adam now motioned to the pistol by his side, causing his girlfriend to sigh in annoyance.
As the group now entered Ann's office, she motioned towards her computer on her desk. "Okay," she said as a panel opened on her suits arm. "I'm going to bring up the suits CPU systems from here. Once that's done I can fry the CPU, then we have to leave quick."
"Why quick," Felicia asked nervously.
"Because once the suits CPU is fried it triggers an overload in the reactor," Stephanie groaned. "The suits self destruct meaning this entire floor is one gigantic bomb."
"Well it seemed logical at the time," Ann said defensively. "I mean we didnt want the technology falling into the wrong hands."
"That made alot more sense when we weren't 10 feet away from a bomb Ann," Stephanie hissed.
As Ann now began her work, the others anxiously looked around. The job was almost done but far too many things could go wrong. If the suits activated, their magic would be useless, meaning they couldnt get away in time. They were also waiting for the worse to happen. No one believed it could go this smoothly.
An eerie laugh now began to echo throughout the floor, causing everyone's hair to stand on end. "What the hell is that," Megan exclaimed.
"Lich," Bob growled.
"Where," Felicia whispered, her eyes growing wide.
"Ann you may want to speed this up," Stephanie warned as she began to scan the area.
As Ann now worked, the others anxiously looked around for any sign of the lich. It was finally Adam who noticed the creature, his eyes going wide with fright. "Felicia behind you!"
Felicia turned, her scream cut short as the graying, rotted corpse grabbed her by the throat. The liches face was covered in a beauty mask yet the teen could feel its unholy eyes burning into her.
Selene, the lich, now began to laugh as she sucked the very life from Felicia. The teens face began to grow pale, her hair going from blond to white as the lich forcefully withdrew her life force.
"No," Adam yelled. Drawing his pistol Afam fired off several rounds, which did little to stop the creature. Seeing no other recourse the hulking teen charged the lich, tackling it and freeing his girlfriend.
Felicia fell to the floor, the color slowly returning as she gasped for air. Now it was her turn to gasp in fright as she watched Adam fight the lich, a battle he was clearly losing.
Selene laughed maniacally, watching as the teen boys body began to wither. Adam's face began to look sickly, his body looking pale as the lich drained him. Bob sensing the danger now lept forward, grabbing the creature by the neck as he launched it through a wall.
"Steph, Megan," Ann called. "Stall for time I'm not done yet."
Selene chuckled softly, slowly rising as she gazed at the group in front of her. "Fools," she hissed. "Do you truely think you stand a chance?"
The group now held fast as the lich now summoned forth her forces. Felicia and the others watched horror struck as Voids and Revenants began to slink out of the shadows, their eyes gleaming with murderous intent. They were outnumbered 3 to 1. Bo matter what they would need to hold the creatures at bay, even at the coat of their very lives.
