Ann was sweating nervously as she willed the process to go faster. The others were making a stand but she knew their defenses wouldnt last.
Bob, the zebra demon, was holding his own tearing Void and Revenant to shreds yet Ann could see the demon was slowly but surely being overwhelmed. Stephanie and Megan were also doing well, the suits were equipped to deal with magical entities. The ammunition though was beginning to become an issue. Both women had expended quite a bit of ordinance at this point meaning they were now resorting to hand to hand combat. Ann wasnt sure just how long the suits could hold out against this continued beating.
Finally Felicia and Adam were trying to assist. Despite having their life force drained both teens were still in the fight yet Ann could see them tiring far quicker than they should.
"Kellie its Ann can you hear me?"
Katie's wife had remained behind in the Magic Shop, helping to coordinate everyone's efforts. "I can hear you," she responded over the radio. "Is everything okay?"
"We could use some backup," Ann stated as she fired off a blast, ripping an approaching Void in two.
"I'll send Sebastian and Shiro," Kellie said. "Everyone is busy at the moment."
Ann now watched as a portal began to open, two college age men leaping through. Shiro now unsheathed his katamari as Sebastian cast a spell, incinerating a group of Voids. While Ann was thankful, she realized they were only delaying the inevitable. She needed to finish this now.
A roar now caused Ann to look up, shocked as the lich Selene charged towards her, backhanding Ann. Despite Ann's battle suit she could feel her cheek burn from the liches strike.
"Foolish mortal do you truely think you can win," Selene bellowed.
Ann looked between herself and the others. The group was slowly being pushed back, despite their best efforts they were losing. Glancing at the time, Ann realized she needed to stall for time. "I just need another minute," she thought.
An idea now sprang into Ann's head. Looking down at her hand, Ann now remembered Jackie's Ring of Age. Maybe she could channel the rings power through her suit? If she did though, what affect would it have on her?
"Screw it were out of options," she thought. Ann took a deep breath, concentrating she now activated the ring, trying to visualize forcing its power through one of the suits cannons. Ann felt as if her entire body was on fire as a blast of pure energy fired from the cannon, hitting Selene directly in the chest.
Selene screamed, stumbling backwards. As the lich steadied herself Ann fired once more knocking the lich backwards. "Thiry seconds," Ann exclaimed as she noticed the internal timer. Ann paused though, did her voice sound clearer?
Shaking the thought from her head, Ann looked to where Selene was slowly standing, unleashing another blast of energy.
Selene swooned as the energy connected with her. Trying to steady herself the lich hissed before pausing and looking at her hands. "What's happening to me?"
Ann gasped as the lich stared at her hands. The rotting, graying flesh of the lich appeared to be healing itself, becoming whole once more.
Ann said nothing, silently wishing the timer to go faster as the lich stated at her hands. Something was definitely happening to the lich. The rot and decay was vanishing, slowly but surely coming to life.
"What's happening to me," Selene whispered.
Both loch and Ann paused, Selene's voice didnt sound supernatural anymore. The lich sounded like an old woman. Quickly grabbing her beauty mask, Selene removed it, shocked by what she felt.
"What have you done to me!"
Ann said nothing. Selene wasnt a lich anymore. The lich had returned to life once more. Now an elderly woman with graying hair, the liches strength and magic had evaporated. She was now just an elderly witch.
"You took my power," Selene screamed. Ann was shocked, she had effectively eliminated lich by returning its youth and with it its life. Selene bellowed, stumbling forward with all the energy her withered body could muster. Ann simply shoved her back, seeing that she had finally succeeded in overloading the other suits CPUs.
"The suits are going to blow," Ann cries to the others. "Kellie get us out of here!"
In a flash of light, Kellie now teleported the group away as the suits exploded, destroying the Voids and Revenants with them.
