Amanda was doing flips and spins in the water, enjoying the new freedom she had as a mermaid, she couldn’t help but smile and laugh as Liz and a few other mermaids and merman swam around her to make sure she didn’t go off and get into trouble. When she wasn’t doing flips and spins moving her new tail in ways which would have been impossible when they where legs she was looking around.
She was in a wide tunnel which had multiple side tunnels and the place had multiple merpeople of all different ages and races. She saw couples swimming side by side hand in hand. She swam by a mermaid who was breast feeding a young child outside what looked to be a store of some kind. The tunnel was illuminated by bio luminescence sea weed which made it seam like a normal day to her.
“This is beautiful.” Said Amanda “I can’t wait to spend my whole life here.”
“Well I hope not, wait until we go back and you see the magical sea, there are real wonders there which put this place to shame.” said Liz as Amanda looked at her confused. “This island is only a small part of our home, it is magically pulled into the human world ever so often whenever someone like you call for it in your heart or whenever someone is on the verge of death. A lot of our merpeople where once lost at sea, not so much anymore but it used to be. Whenever we aren’t in the human world we are in a totally magical world away from humans, full of wondrous creatures.”
“I can’t wait.” Said Amanda as they turned a corner to see a the 1st rays of sunlight go through the water since she left the transformation chamber. She was in another large chamber with cliff walls coming straight out of the water and with multiple tunnels heading off in all directions. Multiple low sandbars filled the room as mermaids and merman relaxed and enjoyed themselves.
“In the human world this would a kin to a park.” Explained Liz as they headed toward one of the sandbars only to see two merman dressed in armor and holding spears waiting for them.
“Are the humans still out?” inquired Liz
“What?” inquired Amanda “I thought we where going to the boat?”
“No…we knocked all your friends out and brought them here.” Explained Liz as she saw the horror on Amanda’s face. “We used magic, they basically all went to sleep and then we brought them here, it is easier and safer for us. We don’t know if there is a weapon on your boat.”
Amanda still didn’t like it but it was understandable and she knew that boys had gone spear fishing and Sam had a handgun in the safe.
“Alright, I still don’t like it.” Stated Amanda
“Neither did I when it happened to me, but that is how we do it.” Stated Liz “We have lost a couple of people doing it the other way.”
They surfaced and Amanda could see her friends all passed out on the main sand dune. They actually looked more asleep then anything else.
“We recommend when dealing with groups like this to wake them up in pairs and let each pair make their choice.” Explained Liz, before Amanda could ask a question she went on. “Since you didn’t have a partner and it was you who called the island, we brought you in alone and straight to the transformation temple. However I believe each one of them has their own partner correct?”
“Yes.” Confirmed Amanda “But I am not sure how well they will take the idea of becoming merpeople.”
“Which is why we like waking them up in small groups, limits peer pressure and allows each to make their own…well own as in with their partner choice.” Explained Liz before smiling. “And I think you would be amazed at how open some people would be to getting the freedom of merpersonhood. So whom do we awake first…I’ll leave that to you.”
Amanda’s eyes moved to her friends whom to wake up first
