The girls had been curious about the goddess ever since they learned of her. And even more curious as to how she would appear to humanity if she ever chose to return. So when Dana reported the goddess’s avatar, they got even more curious. Clarice told and reminded them all of what Taylor asked and “While you all are free to do as you like, I believe it would be in everyone’s best interest to abide by Taylor’s words for now.”
The girls sulked but agreed. So, someone of a small group suggested a trip to a nearby city to check out a fair and maybe catch a film. Clarice took a look at the map to see which town they girls picked and saw it was a nice distance away from Taylor, so she agreed on the idea and wished them a good trip.
Now, Clarice was right about the town’s location, but one of the best routes to the city had them going through Taylor’s hometown.
Guess where they decided on a pitstop.
The group consisted of five girls, Rikki, Paulette, Ivy, Linda and Betty, and they decided to start with a look of the territory, as this was where their goddess’s avatar lived and to see places where she has been a decent amount.
“And be watchful in case you spot Dana. I do not want to get an earful from the rest if she sees us.” Rikki states and heads to the food court, which is conveniently located in the middle of the mall, giving them a near panoramic view of the place.
“Even though this whole thing was your idea.” Betty mutters taking up a seat at the food court regardless.
“Hey, you were the one who wanted to see her.” Paulette reminded.
“We all did,” Ivy reminded them, “That’s why we’re here, remember?”
“And here I thought you came here as our wrangler.” Linda teased.
She shrugged, “Better beg forgiveness then ask permission.”
“Still,” Linda started, “What exactly is the plan? Wandering around seems pointless.”
“Figured a mall would be a good starting point as any,” Rikki said, giving the place a look-over, “At least get the feel of the area has had an effect on, like with the screaming women and poor clerks if going by Dana’s reports. And we can’t exactly go into her school and snoop around for her.”
“Wait, we have no plan then? Just Scooby Doo it?” The rest snorted at Paulette’s wording.
Linda coughed politely, but said, “Basically, yes. We couldn’t really plan it back at the commune. We’ll just play by ear.”
“This is a bad idea now…”
They finally ordered some appetizers and a platter after the workers started giving them several long looks as they talked over an empty table, before they decided to walk around town and see if they can spot Taylor and perhaps get to witness some of her powers in action.
They soon saw how different the city looked and felt compared to the one they were closest too. It was like a breath of fresh air, the people were way nicer and didn’t seem to have that cynic undertone many others have. Ivy looked to see yet another group being all lovey-dovey and not a single voice or eyebrow raised at them, “This is almost like a different world.”
“Everywhere is changing to be like this, but…ground zero really is something else.” Rikki agrees as she sees what appear to be dog-girls playing with their humans.
“But this exciting!” Paulette said, “If this is what awaits the world then it truly will be an upcoming beautiful time for all!”
Linda nodded, “Yeah, but this might just be the tip of the iceberg. Who knows how many changes were done and what can be seen by the naked eye, even an enlightened one?”
“Well, if we time it right, then we may even see some of these ourselves with no problems!”
“Yeah, it would be a shame to tell Clarice you really against what was asked of you lot.” The girls tensed at the voice behind them, ‘We’re screwed.’
