Amanda tried to keep her head down, hoping to avoid notice as she tried to make her way through the day. Unexpectedly, her entire reality had turned sideways. That morning, she recalled getting on the bus and saying hello to her best friend, Tim.
Then Tim had suddenly vanished, and she began to forget details about him, as if he'd been erased from existence. She remembered staring at the seat where he had been, and it's new occupants- Noelle and Ashley. Tim had never liked Noelle, and often tormented her. Amanda had always joined in because, well, Tim was her friend.
Except...she hadn't been Amanda then. Her name had been Adam.
Then the universe seemed to tilt, and vertigo had overcome her as her body changed, going from male to female. If she had been able to properly witness the transformation, it might have been fascinating; from her perspective, it was horrifying. She had become a long haired girl wearing a modest dress. She had glasses on her face (and she quickly discovered her vision was blurry without them), and foreign metal objects on her teeth- braces.
And no one seemed to notice the change. She knew she had been a boy, she remembered being a boy. But now she was a girl, and a freshman one at that. She wandered to her classes in a daze- no one seemed to care that a freshman was taking classes with juniors. People would greet her by name. She seemed to have friends.
And yet, few details of her new life made any sense to her. Something about her personality had changed as well. Tim had always been the dominant one in their friendship, the leader, the guy who did all the talking. But being a quiet supporter was one thing- now she was terminally shy, barely able to speak above a whisper.
And everyone just seemed to expect that.
What was she going to do? She didn't know how to be a girl, how to dress, how to act. She dreaded even going to the bathroom. She hadn't even dared to touch herself _there_. She wanted to cry, but she would be too embarrassed to become the center of attention.
She felt faint, the stress of all this was too much for her. What had happened to Tim? Had he changed as well, becoming another person? Then who? Where had he gone? And if she could find him, would he even recognize her?
And then, salvation came. In her school, there was only one person who could be said to be more popular than Ashley Lennox (and apparently, due to some dust up that occured the previous day, it was definitely the case). Bobbi Prince. Bobbi was 17, the captain of the volleyball team, and was the student council vice president. She was a tall girl at 5' 11", with a deceptively slender build. But she was strong (and had once knocked Debbie Russel on her ass) and beautiful, with a smile that could light up a room. She had shoulder length ginger hair and blue eyes.
And she had a locker not far from Amanda's. As a boy, she'd always thought Bobbi was beautiful, but so far out of his league he didn't even fantasize about her. And today, all that changed.
Amanda had just gotten her books out of her locker and closed the door when she heard a tearing sound and fell down, her books scattering everywhere. She hit her limit, and to her shame, she burst into tears. She couldn't do this, she couldn't, she couldn't, she was a GUY, damn it!
And then she heard the voice of an angel. "Hey, are you ok?"
She looked up to see Bobbi crouched next to her. Without even waiting for an answer, Bobbi helped her up. "Your skirt got caught in your locker, it's tore up pretty bad. Don't worry, I got you." Bobbi flagged down two boys. "Hey, help me pick up this girl's books, ok?"
Ashley would yell at people to get them to do what she wanted. Bobbi just asked nicely. The results were the same. Bobbi asked for Amanda's locker combination, and, still in a daze, she gave it to her. Bobbi put her books away, then got a sweater from her own locker, and tied it around Amanda's waist. "This way, nobody gets a free show." She grinned. "Come on, let's get you to the nurse's office, you took a nasty fall."
Bobbi took Amanda's arm, and the simple touch made the shy boy-turned-girl feel both very warm and giddy. Bobbi sat her down in the office, and went to fetch the nurse. Before she left, Amanda managed to find her voice.
"Thank you."
Bobbi flashed her brilliant smile. "It's no problem. Amanda, right? You're the freshman they put in all the advanced classes. You must be really smart."
Amanda mumbled something in reply. She was literally tongue tied by the older girl.
Bobbi laughed. "It's ok, you know, I used to be shy too. Hey, I got to get to class, but I'll see you later. You can bring me my sweater back tomorrow. And if you need anything, just ask, ok?" The tall girl waved and walked out.
Amanda felt her heart sink as the girl left. But just thinking about Bobbi's smile got her through the day. At home that night, her parents didn't seem to think anything was odd about the fact they had a son that morning, and a daughter that evening. Her room was mostly the same, but her clothes were all different.
She took off her clothes and started at herself in the mirror. 'I'm a girl now', she thought. It didn't even bother her, she found she was able to accept this new reality. She touched her breasts. They were small, but it felt nice to touch them. She reached downward to touch the sparse tuft of soft hair between her legs. Her fingers probed into the slit of her pussy, and she was rewarded with an intense feeling of pleasure. She fell back onto her bed, and reached for the sweater, bringing it to her face and inhaling Bobbi's scent even as she continued her exploration.
When she finally came, it was with thoughts of Bobbi's smile. She loved the older girl. She wanted nothing less than to be her girlfriend. It was an impossible dream, but one that made her feel so...happy.
Her name was Amanda Blake, and she was a shy, pretty girl that everyone said was very smart. And she was in love with Bobbi Prince. And that was ok.
And then...
