"Um, sure Dad." He replied, half paying attention as he grabbed the red dress and folded it in his arm. His eyes were still fixed on the camera. he wanted to use it, but at the same time he didn't want either of his parents seeing him mess with it after he wasted so much time.
He walked downstairs to give the dress to his mom, just before she left to ask if she wanted it. While they talked near the front door, he casually placed the camera on the counter top, and forgot about it soon after before running back upstairs to help his father.
Hours later, Oliver was lying on his bed, bored and tired. He had beaten the level, but in doing so he found out he had to fight na even harder boss which he did not feel like dealign with that day. What's worse was that he had to move a crap ton of boxes, making his arms almost ache. Sometimes he wished he could be as fit as his dad, but life wasn't always fair.
"Kids, lunch!" He heard his mother's voice ring out.
"Ugh, finally." He mumbled. He hopped out of bed, swinging open his door to get first dibs. As he did so, Rebecca also walked out of her room, and managed to spread her arms out to spite her brother.
"Hey! Move big butt!" He growled.
"Ha! No chance loser. And that insult used to upset me, but I'll have you know, more mature people can appreciate a good ass." She teased.
"Eww, gross! Just get out of my way I'm hungry!" He whined.
"Temper temper bro, what's the password?" She asked.
"Hmpf. Becca is the best." He mumbled.
"What was that?" She asked, over exaggerating as she placed her hand to her ear.
"Oh shut up you heard me!" He complained.
"Becca, Ollie, come down here now! Your father and Jerry are already here!" Paula called out.
Rebecca reluctantly let Oliver go who promptly ran downstairs. They got down to find their mother had gotten pizza when she had come back with Jerry from his game. Eric was already there at one end of the long table, reading some of his unfinished book in one had and a slice in the other. Their mother was on the other end, eyeing down her other kids as they walked over. Jerry, meanwhile, was happily eating away in the middle of his parents.
It was only a few minutes into their meal when Paula noticed a familiar looking camera sitting behind her on the counter.
"Hello, what's this?" She asked. "Eric honey, did you find this in the attic?" She asked her husband.
Eric glanced up and shook his head.
"No doesn't look familiar." He replied. "Did you see that Ollie?" Eric asked.
Oliver continued to fork down his food at record pace. He looked up and only gave a loose shrug before continuing.
"Ew, you're such a boy." Rebecca scoffed as she slowly ate her slice, peeling of the pepperoni as she went along.
"What is it Ma?" Jerry asked curiously.
"It's an old camera Jerry. Back then, before they were built into phones, you had to buy them separately, and this kind of camera printed them out right away!" Paula excitedly explained.
"That's so cool!" He laughed. "Can I take one?" He asked.
"Well it's old honey, I don't want to break it, but I do think it's a good idea to take a family photo to test it out!" She replied excitedly.
The others, besides Jerry, groaned.
"Honey, do we have to do it now?" Eric sighed.
"Come now Eric it's a good time to, all natural!" She laughed.
"Well, at least I'll look good." Becca said, rolling her eyes.
"Whatever doofus." Oliver sneered. "Mom, just make it quick, and make sure you're in the shot."
"Oh right! Good call Ollie." She chuckled, turning the camera around slightly. "Now, this should... do it." She grunted, angling just right. The whole family moved in and smiled as best they could.
"Now, everyone say, pizza!" Paula said.
"Pizza." Everyone said in different levels of enthusiasm.
