Laura didn’t want to be in her coworker’s house any longer than she needed. Who knows when Liz would come back?
Luckily, Laura actually knew how to get to her own house from Liz’s house. It would be much easier to regroup there. She could even order some supplies to be delivered for her to use.
Laura slid off the couch and went back to the kid’s bedroom, where she gathered an armful of diapers and stuffed them into her small backpack. Her eyelids were very heavy by now, but she ignored the tiredness. She could sleep at home.
Once she was satisfied by the diapers she’d collected, Laura turned off the TV, grabbed the backpack, and left the house. Night had fallen. Laura’s thumb immediately popped into her mouth. She suckled on it for comfort as she walked back home in the dark. Thankfully, she managed to find her way home quickly and without any problems.
Laura grabbed her spare key from its hiding spot and entered her house. She let out a loud sigh of relief. Accompanying that sigh of relief was a soft hiss as she wet her diaper.
“I don’t need a change yet,” she thought to herself, checking her diaper’s status. Satisfied that she wouldn’t need a change until the morning, Laura headed for her bedroom. She dropped off her backpack and climbed onto her desk chair to use her computer.
A few minutes and over $50 later, Laura had purchased enough supplies to make herself comfortable, to be delivered the next day. After the hectic last two nights, she wanted to stay at home while regrouping and planning. She turned off her computer and climbed into her bed, where she fell asleep immediately.
