Once docked and all geared up, you climb from your yacht to the beach and walk a few steps forward. You stop and bend over to feel the coarse sand. You note its dry texture, and wonder how it couldve purged the ocean water from it so quickly. You had only seconds ago docked, and this place had not been above the surface of the water for more than two or three minutes!
Still kneeling, you look around, and notice that the water is still receding. The island was still rising from the sea! How far would it come before it stopped growing? Your eyes are drawn to the docks once more. Strange, because the dock is remaining even with the waterline. It is pushing outward with the sea, while the island rises further from the sea.
Another note you make, with a hint of alarm, is the beach is also receding with the sea. Looking down, you jump up, shocked to see the edge of the beach beneath you, and the grassy foliage is pushing its way past you as you watch. Yes, the beach was ... gone! Not gone, actually it had only moved past you, receding further from you as the island's ascent continued even more.
Your ship! Looking over at it, you are chagrinned to find it has been beached, and the green is growing beneath it as well. Perhaps dry-docking wasn't such a good idea after all!
You had planned to explore the waters edge along the beach. That might be difficult. To do so, you have to chase the sea. What do you do?
