The apes managed to open a strange page with a slider, unaware that this was the panel to control the lazy zookeeper’s current age. They dragged it up and stopped at 40, recognizing the number as the same shape worn by the zoo’s kindest keeper, Beth. Beth had no kids of her own and thus treated the animals at the zoo like her children. The chimps were her favorite, always getting the ripest pumpkins at Halloween and the best presents every Christmas.
Maddy groaned in pain as her whole body started to ache suddenly. Her joints burst with surges of it as she stumbled to her phone. But then she noticed that her breasts were a bit bigger than normal, and her skin looked worn and tired.
Her phone alarm went off and she jumped, realizing her breasts were also saggier than normal.
She read in confusion:
“Take arthritis tab. Finish shift. Take Benny to her dentist appointment.”
She scratched her head and screamed: she was so old now!
“Oh god I look like the crypt keeper!” She screamed, collapsing as something new overtook her.
The troop watched as fellow chimps Ross and Likala fought over the strange device, mashing buttons until the weird translator flew from their hands and hit the water. Sparks flew as the device fried, its changes now permanent.
Maddy felt a sudden surge wash over her and stood there completely blank. Then she realized that nothing was new or different about her at all! She picked herself up and went back to... what was it again?
