The Magic Canvas was crafted by a crazed artificer who had been shunned by his art peers many years ago. The canvas is a transparent art canvas that allows you to paint on reality. This includes altering things, drawing something entirely new, or even erasing. The possibilities were infinite.
The artificer first created it after no one acknowledged his talent and he was eventually pushed to revenge. Using his great skills with magic, he created the Magic Canvas and used it to transform the peers and teachers who ridiculed his art. After the event, no one ever saw him again. Over the years, the Magic Canvas traded hands, being forgotten in attics and sitting in people's basements, until one day a wizard recognized it's potential and it finally ended up in the Magic Shop, waiting for a new owner.
Now enters the protagonist.
You're a skilled artist who was drawn into this store after seeing the strange and slightly dumb name for it, "Magic Shoppe." As you browsed through the aisles, you passed many confusing devices and antiques, but your creative mind was set on one thing, art supplies and anything that could help you paint, draw, or express yourself.
The items in the aisles seemed to just be a lot of junk and old antiques until you finally came across the type of thing you were looking for. An old canvas was leaning against one of the shelves. Strangely, it was slightly transparent and even though it looked worn, the cloth was such a pristine white color that it almost looked like it was giving off light.
Pleased with your find and not seeing anything else that looked interesting, you grabbed it and briskly headed to the clerk to buy it. Surprisingly, the you were only charged $10 for the canvas which is much cheaper than a normal canvas would cost, but you assumed that it was probably because of how worn it was.
You left the store with your loot in hand and headed back home. Once you got home, you set the canvas on your bed and headed to the bathroom to get changed into more comfortable clothes. You looked into the mirror in the bathroom.
