When it was announced that Horizon Light would possibly be filling up with Coronavirus victims that were overflowing in other states, the hospital didn't really mind, if they weren't a little annoyed. In their opinion, it was everyone gathering in large places to celebrate the election results that was responsible for the sudden surge of cases. But that wasn't to say that they weren't prepared, quite the opposite. Ever since the pandemic began, Horizon Light had been stockpiling (or "hoarding" as some detractors/trolls called it) life support machines, medicine, and supplies, even though there were very few cases. While some people might have mocked them for this practice, there were now others who were applauding Horizon Light for their foresight.
There were also some new policies to prevent "cross contamination" at the hospital, but these were ones that were considered reasonable. For example, the maternity ward where newborn Animalians was placed on "lockdown" not to keep the infants in, but to keep possibly infected patients out. Steven and Fleur were most appreciative of this rule, as well as the rule that there was to be no infected in the halls when infants were taken home. This did enable them to make it home without too much trouble.
The GGAC were also helping out with the new influx of Coronavirus patients, but not by doing the big things. Instead they were helping out by making sure that things like oxygen bottles, medicine, etc., were fully stocked; delivering food to rooms on floors, and so on. While they might be more resistant to Coronavirus, they also obeyed the laws in place.
There was also a program that talked about coronavirus patients wanting to join Animalia, but these would be monitored both during and after their conversion to make sure that they wouldn't be spreading Coronavirus after their conversion. Also, partly because of some of those applying for conversion were older men and women, they would be evaluated for RHS, which some would later call a fair trade for being healthy and "sexy again" as some would say.

But this wasn't the only case of foresight having saved lives. There was one case of one of the survivors of the plane crash at Mieni Atoll being unfortunate enough to step on a stonefish, but Mieni had been stockpiling stonefish antivenom for just such an occasion, since Mieni was in stonefish territory, which was made clear in the Mieni Atoll travel brochure. Because of that, the victim was able to survive, but painted a harrowing picture of enduring the pain from a stonefish sting.
