Ty couldn't beleive it as he watched Brian slowly vanish into the body of a mindless filly. She never seemed to realize what was going on, all the way until a stablehand came over, haltered her, and led her out into the pasture.
Disgusted, Ty brought himself back to the two remaining members of the group. He stopped himself from appearing, however, when he realied that Christine wasn't just waiting to hear back from Brian.
"He's a horse now," she said, concentrating. "They're leading her into the pasture. Damn, that's what I was afraid of."
Joe the dragon looked impatient, "What do we do? And how are they doing it?"
Christine smiled, "I was ready for something like this after Mike didnt' return. I wove a spell into Brians centaur body that should let me undo the damage, mental and physical, pretty easily. From there, I can hopefully change him back to an elf. Mike is the tougher one. We're not even sure which horse is him." She motioned toward the town, "as for how, they've got spells on several of the buildings for non-humans. The stables for centaurs, obviously. There are a few pens for minoaturs, sayters, and so on."
"Do we destroy them?" asked Joe, obviously eager to do some damage. "I doubt that they could stand up to a dragon," he said smugly.
Christine shook her head slowly. "I want to avoid a frontal assault for the moment. We may need the stable to turn them back, after all. Besides, someone spelled this town pretty heavily, so I wouldn't want you to fall into a trap set for a dragon."
Joe nodded slowly, "Or you into one for a drow." He thought, "What's the plan, then?"
Christine sat down, "For the moment, we think about this. We also need to be ready for patrols from the town, Brian told them that there were others in the hills. They're probebly thinking centaurs, so they won't be ready for dragons. It'll be dark in a couple hours. Until then, we wait and think."
Ty decided to stay hidden for now, thinking that Joe and Christine might just pull this off after all.
