Olivia suddenly became disoriented. What was she doing again? She tried to recall, but before she could her eyes managed to catch something at the edge of her field of vision. Looking down, Olivia's heart skipped a beat upon seeing two objects sitting very close to the pool's edge.
Racing downstairs, she felt a wave of relief wash over her upon seeing her old childhood items safe. On one side was a brown teddy bear that she had named Kernel Eric. Next to it was a toy from a bit later in her life, a soft doll she named Miss Rebecca. She scooped up the two toys and rushed back inside the house.
As she placed the toys on her dining room table, her mind wandered back to her life. She had always kept these and some other toys in the hope that she could give them to her own children one day. Sadly, she ended learning the hard way that she was unable to have children of her own.
She never complained, she loved her husband Paul, but sometimes she wished that they could've had kids of her own.
*KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK*
A loud door banging interrupted her daydream. Olivia rushed over and quickly flung the door open.
"Harper?" She asked surprised.
"Liv!" Her little sister greeted with a hug.
Olivia hugged back, wondering why her little sister was there. Harper had dark black hair like Olivia, but hers was shorter and straighter. She had a slightly less prominent ass than Olivia, but larger breasts. She always dressed like she was worth a million bucks, wearing dresses and makeup galore, but Olivia knew it was all just her compensating for always bouncing between odd jobs.
"So, Harper, what brings you around here?" Olivia asked cheerily.
"Duh sis, I'm here to help you out of your rut." She snickered, walking in without an invitation.
"Rut?" Olivia replied back.
"Yeah, rut. You've been moping around, not doing anything for the last year!" She sighed. "You have to do something, go on vacation, go to a bar, something!" She called out, sitting on the couch with a plop.
"Harper, I'm fine." Olivia replied, not so convincingly.
"Really? Because, I think we both know what's up." She said, raising her eyebrow.
"W-well..." She trailed off.
"Sis, you gotta move on." Harper replied.
"I have." Olivia answered, somewhat more sternly.
Harper's gaze moved to the two toys sitting on the table nearby.
"Oh really then?" She asked, walking up to point at the toys.
"Look, it's not like that, I found them-" Olivia started to explain before she was interrupted.
"Liv, I'm sorry but you CANNOT hold on to these things! They'll just be a constant reminder of a hard truth." Harper advised.
Olivia tried not to tear up.
"So... so what do I do huh?" She asked.
"Simple, sell this stupid things on eBay!" Harper chuckled, holding the doll and the teddybear by the ends of their hands.
"I... I don't know Harper I just..." Olivia stuttered.
"Ugh, you don't have to sell them right this sec sis." Harper groaned. She walked over and picked up the camera. "I'll just take a pic now, we'll go get a drink, and then you can decide when we come back alright?" She asked.
"Okay." Olivia sighed.
Harper smiled, lifted the camera, and took the picture. Harper was unaware that ______ was accidentally in the shot.
