“I’m thirsty. Can I have a drink?” Leah asks.
“Sure. But remember, it’ll go right through you, and you might wind up having to use that diaper if we’re not done yet.”
“I don’t care. I’ve already pooped myself twice today, peeing isn’t a big deal. I’m really thirsty.”
“All right.” Tina gives Leah a baby bottle full of baby formula. “Don’t guzzle it down, though. Drink it slow.” Leah does as she’s told, drinking the baby formula slowly.
There wasn’t a real reason Tina wanted Leah to drink the milk slowly. She just thought it would look cuter. To her pleasure, it is just as cute as she had hoped. They finally reach the front of the queue.
“Aw, someone’s drinking from his ba-ba!” coos the bank teller upon seeing Leah. Tina smiles.
“Yes, my son is a thirsty little boy.”
“Is he old enough to eat solid foods? I can’t tell.”
“He is,” Tina confirms.
“We’ve got some lollipops for kids that come to the bank,” the bank teller says. She holds one out to Tina. “Feel free to give it to him, or you can just have it yourself. I won’t tell.” Tina laughs and takes the lollipop.
“Thanks.” She looks at Leah. Her stepdaughter has finished the bottle of formula. “Here, Aspen.” Tina gives Leah the lollipop. Leah immediately pops the candy into her mouth. “All right, so, here’s what I need done,” Tina says, turning back to the bank teller.
