"We've got to get to the Race. We've been messing with this all night. It's almost morning now."
"But, mistress, what about me-"
"We can't change you back with the Chronivac, so we're going to have to find another way. In the meantime, it's going to help if we have money and a place to work." Freya reasoned. She gently stroked the instrument controls. "Besides, you know how important this race is to me."
Brianna checked her memory logs and sure enough, found that the reality change had hit them both bigger than she expected... damn. She couldn't even activate the chronivac herself now. Though she felt like she didn't have to bother with menus anymore. All the functions just made intuitive sense, and she felt like she could explain exactly what everything did. Damn, so she was some kind of sci-fi genie now? She felt her programming making sure she was happy about that. That was fine though, and so she was.
"Alright. But in the previous timelines, the speed racer project didn't work."
"That's because I was limiting myself to what was possible with modern understanding of technology and sciences. Benjamin was an art freak, but he wasn't that creative. Jeff though? Totally a sci fi nerd. And now, with that to draw on.." She opened the profile on screen, make a few quick changes and was ready to try it out.
"Alright, target me and activate."
The interior of the car made that kooky transfomation sound effect again, and this time, Freya leaned back against the seat and willed it to happen.
She felt her body change to be similar to Brianna's transformation earlier. Her torso was covered completely by a carbon steel shell. But it didn't stop there- it became her exoskeleton. Without a bone structure, she'd be a lot lighter and resistant to G forces. Also, she had Freya's paste form, which she had made part of her biological systems. Now instead of centralized organs, there was just an incompressable gel that was circulated through her body by the car's life support systems.
She didn't have biological needs anymore; during normal life, her waste could simply be exhaled out through her abdominal nostrils, which she'd moved down to the back of her thighs. She smiled at new memories of how the constant breeze made her skirts flutter. Though usually, she went nude, the carbon exoskeleton looking enough like a body suit to pass in public.
Her breasts shrunk down to a C size, and the rest of her slimmed down and shrunk accordingly. She snuggled into her seat, Brianna adjusting it to support her perfectly. Freya just relaxed in her grip, totally secure in her sister's grasp.
Her brain likewise was useless, now just a thin film of nerve tissue on the inside of her skull. She'd considered getting cybernetic implants to link her to her car, but hadn't gotten around to that yet. It let her feed sensory data inside her shell, but it was optimized for speed. No need for reason. Her body paste could handle that.
Finally along her side there was an instrument panel for tubes. The car's middle riser turned into a life support panel and hooked up. Soon it was pumping electricity and high pressure oxygen into her torso. She squeezed her fingers and toes, letting out a pink "oh" as she got used to the new sensations. Then sat up, energetic and feeling fully awake and focused like she never had been before.
"Okay sister," Freya sat up straight in the chair, gripped the steering wheel and let her fingers slide up to the transmission sticks. Her eyes staring straight out the windshield in determination. "We've got a race to win."
