A warm smile spread across the young Yuriko's face as she edged closer to Steph. "Maybe it's my 'reduced stature'," she chuckled. "But I must say Steph, there is something very warm and inviting about your presense."
"Well maid bots are designed to make children feel comfortable," she stated.
Yuriko nodded, sighing as she leaned into a warm embrace from Steph. "Have you ever seen the Incredibles," she asked. Steph shook her head no, her databamks had knowledge of the movie but she had never seen it herself.
"Its an old movie," Yuriko said. "It was old even when I was a kid, well the first time. Their was a line though that always stuck out to me. If everyone is special, than no one is."
Yuriko now looked up at the maid bot, hugging her tightly. "I think that's always been the problem with the Catalyst," she said. "The power to alter reality and change the world completely often goes a bit far."
"So you don't want a world of immortal child geniuses or nanny bots watching over them," Steph snorted. "Your repulsed by my presense."
"I didnt say that," Yuriko replied defensively. "I do like you. You care about Darren, you're a warm and kind presense, and you have no problem pointing things you disagree with."
"So what is it then?"
Yuriko rubbed her chin thoughtfully as she gazed into the maid bots eyes. "The more I get to know you Steph," she said. "The more I think Darren creating you is a step in robotic evolution, call it robolution."
"Robolution," Steph stated in confusion. "You made that up."
"The word yeah," she laughed. "But not the concept, just hear me out." Steph nodded as Yuriko now explained her theory.
Robots, droids, and androids all had one thing in common no matter how advanced they were. None of them possessed the uniqueness, the personality, the humanity that Steph and her sisters possessed. Maybe its because they are the next step in robotics. Steph and her sisters were to modern robots, what early man was to the Neanderthal.
"I'm not sure about that," Steph stated.
"Okay let me ask you this," Yuriko questioned. "Do you want a world populated completely by maid droids?" Steph shuddered, that wasnt very appealing. "What about a world populated by immortal children. Kids that never grew up?" Steph paused, that wasnt very appealing either. Half the enjoyment of being with Darren was watching him grow and learn, wondering what the future held for him.
"So what are you proposing Yuriko?"
"I'm not proposing anything," she said. "But, I think helping Darren create a population of droids such as yourself would be for the best."
"And leave others as they are," Steph added.
"Not even a Catalyst Can fix everything," Yuriko shrugged as she now snuggled against the maid bot. "Has anyone ever told you how comfortable you are?"
"Thanks I'm also equipped with an array of nursery rhymes and songs."
Yuriko smirked as she now gazed up at the maid bot. "I'll keep that in mind if I ever want to relive kindergarten for an afternoon," she laughed. "And by the way Steph. Really glad we can talk."
