Seeing Yuriko and Steph talk, Darren decided to take his leave. As he made his way towards the kitchen he was pleasantly surprised to see Hannah knocking on the backdoor. "Hey Hannah come on in."
Hannah grinned, entering the kitchen as the two teens now sat at the table. "Whose the new girl," Hannah asked. "You get a new girlfriend or something?"
"No," Darren chuckled. "That was Yuriko."
Hannah gaped, creeping towards the living room and spying the regressed wizard talk with Steph. "Holy crap," she whispered. "Is this permanent?"
"No just temporary," Darren said. "She was just showing me that some of the things I can do don't have to be permanent. I can do temporary things, you know, for fun."
Hannah nodded, pushing her glasses up as she made her way back towards the table. "Guess that works be real weird hanging out with someone our age that talks like an old lady."
Darren stifled a laugh as he now gazed at Hannah. "Your worried about something," he said.
"No I'm not."
"That's bull," Darren stated. "I can tell when your stressed. You get this scowl on your face like you have to fart or something."
Hannah rolled her eyes, Darren could be both observant and gross at the same time. "How is it you can be sensitive and a tool all at once?"
Darren shrugged as he now sat down next to Hannah. The girl was his oldest friend, whatever was bothering her he wanted to help. "So what on your mind?"
"Wondering when your going to change me," Hannah sighed. "I mean you already changed Steph, and our teachers, hell you already changed Yuriko, Ayami, and Akira. When the hell am I getting changed?"
Darren shrugged, he hadn't really thought about it. Judging by Hannah's expression she was worried about what Darren had in store for her. "You seem really nervous Hannah that's not like you."
"Well it's not everyday that you find out your best friend can change you into anyone or anything," she said. "And yeah, I know you said I can remember what I used to be but..."
"But what?"
"I'm scared okay," Hannah groaned. "Im scared of losing, well, me. I like who I am."
"Hannah," Darren said softly. "I wouldnt do anything that would make you uncomfortable. Your my best friend."
"I know," she sighed. "But you have the power to make it so even if I didn't like what I became I would still like it. Does that make sense?"
Darren nodded, he did understand. Looking at Hannah he had an idea. "I think I have an idea," he said. "And I want you to help me with your changes."
"Okay," she said. "But what are you going to change me into? Am I gonna be older? Younger? A droid like Steph?"
"I was thinking of making you stronger," he said.
"What like an Amazon or a superhero or something?"
"Just trust me ok," Darren smiled. Hannah looked at Darren sighing before nodding. Darren now reached over taking Hannah's hand as the two teens smiled at one another. Hannah now watched as Darren's rings began to glow.
Hannah felt a warm sensation wash over herself. Looking at herself she wondered if she would notice any changes that took place. Looking at her hands she raised an eyebrow. She still looked very much human. "Okay I'm done."
"Huh," Hannah asked. Hannah now stood, examining herself. Nothing was different, she wasnt taller, thinner, younger, older, robotic, she didnt even have bigger breasts. "What gives," she said. "I look exactly the same."
"I know," Darren stated. "I didnt want to change how you look. I always liked how you look, how you act, you've always been way cooler than I was."
"That's not hard," Hannah joked. "So, what did you do then?"
Darren smirked, placing a solid metal crowbar on the table. "I want you to bend this."
"Its solid steel," Hannah exclaimed.
"Trust me."
Hannah sighed, this was stupid. Taking the crowbar in her hands Hannah now attempted to bend the solid metal. The teens eyes now went wide as she watched the bar begin to give, slowly but surely bending.
"Holy shit," she whispered. "How did I do that?"
"Well, Darren stated. "I enhanced you Hannah. I didnt change your appearance but I made you 10x stronger, faster, and more agile. Your an enhanced human now."
Hannah was stunned, gazing at her hands before reaching up to touch her glasses. "You couldn't of just given me perfect eye sight?"
"I like your glasses."
"You're a dork," Hannah smirked. "But thank you."
"Welcome," Darren said. Gazing at his friend he felt he had done something good. Sometimes it was small changes that made the world better.
