Mark realized he could toy with Aidan for a bit and grinned. He was sure Aidan would hate it if he was to know beforehand, but he would have no say in this game.
Aidan stood there frozen and silenced, fearing whatever Mark could do to him. That grin didn´t seem good for him, after all.
“Okay Aidan, I will play a bit with you, and later change you back to what you are. Whenever I say “Reset to start”, you will be in exact this position, with everything as it is right now, beside your hair, with will then be back to black like it was before. And you will then be able to talk and move when you are back to “normal”. But if I add something for you to keep or stay the same, it won´t be affected by the reset.” Mark started his first command.
Aidan felt a shudder run down his spine, as his body created a back-up of him, deep down. Not that he would think of it like that. He was a bit relieved that Mark said it like this, it gave him the secure feeling to be able to go back if Mark messed up.
“So, now for the next things. From now on, whenever I say your name, you will be forced to face me. Then, you will be unable to lie to me, meaning you will answer everything honestly to the best of your knowledge. And if I say either “Can you remember …” or “Can you think of …” you will be forced to do that, as far as you can.” Mark said next.
Aidan looked a bit confused at the second part, but the first was bad. If he couldn´t lie and was forced to be honest instead … He could embarrass himself really fast if the wrong question was asked. His cheeks got a bit red thinking what he could be forced to say. At least it would only be Mark who could force the truth out of him.
Mark watched Aidan´s face closely and laughed as he got red. “Nothing to be shy about there, Aidan. I won´t ask you something embarrassing, at least not on purpose. Okay, whenever I snap my fingers in front of your eyes, you will forget whatever you were going to say and are unable to do so even if you can think of it. If I clap my hands while you look at me, you will forget whatever word or phrase you were going to say completely, as it never existed in your mind. If I stomp my feet while you look at me, you will forget whatever you were thinking about completely.”
Now Aidan looked horrified at Mark. “With that commands, Mark could effectively erase my memory” Aidan thought. He could only hope that Mark wouldn´t do that to much. After all, Aidan had much memories he was fond off.
Mark grinned again. “An idea what I could do now, have you Aidan? Well, there is still something missing. If I ask you a question or to think or remember something and there is nothing in that place, when I answer the question myself afterwards you will think of that answer as the truth. And every command I made since the reset command isn´t affected by said reset, only the forgotten parts are.”
Now Aidan was even more horrified. Before, Mark could only erase his memories, but now he could completely rewrite them if he wanted to. And to him, it would all seem normal. That could end really bad for him.
Mark then allowed Aidan to speak again. “Please Mark, I don´t want you to mess with my memories.” He pleaded some more, and Mark was already thinking of his first move.
“Aidan, can you remember what I all commanded for you since and including the reset trigger?” Mark asked, smiling at him.
Aidan looked at him as his mind played of the last few minutes again, every order Mark made and how he felt about that. And then Mark stomped, erasing Aidan´s memory of every change he made. A soft wave of warmth went through Aidan´s mind, and suddenly he didn´t know why he was horrified anymore. Mark had just found out about the chronivac, he didn´t change anything but that one text input. And the couple of small tests, which until now weren´t too bad.
Seeing Aidan´s face got calmer, Mark smiled. Now the real fun could begin. But first: “The “Reset to start” will put you to this mindset again instead of the old one.” As Aidan looked confused, not knowing the reset-command, Mark was satisfied. Aidan would never remember his first orders, other than Mark telling him.
