Siobhan slowly stepped forward and placed her hand on the glass, right on the other side of the captain’s. She couldn't help herself but to agree with Captain Stone. This was a major scientific breakthrough. This was something that had to be shared with the world. She couldn't risk the government silently getting rid of Captain Stone and then sweeping it under the rug. Especially if Doctor Kelly’s earlier comment was any indication. She would make history by helping to build that paradise.
”I take it you’ve made your decision?”
“Yes, I will help you escape.” Siobhan didn't have to voice it out loud, but she just felt the urge to do it, regarding the momentous occasion. “What can I do?”
Captain Stone sent instructions right into Siobhan’s brain. She had spent the last few days watching Doctor Kelly access the facility’s network and learned everything that was vital to her escape. Siobhan logged into the computer (turns out Doctor Kelly’s password was the name of her pet dog) and first, to prevent others from entering, blocked all entries to this area by cutting the power.
Up next was the opening of the massive steel door dividing her and the alien captain, which was somehow much more complex. Someone really didn't want to risk the captain escaping. Did they maybe do this out of experience? Siobhan hesitated for a moment. Was allowing this alien to escape the right decision? The doctor shook her head. Catherine Stone was putting her trust in her. She had shown her the hardship she went through and the beauty that was their bond. Meanwhile the only person she knew in this faceless facility was the slightly rude Doctor Kelly. Ultimately her decision was only reinforced and she activated the mechanism to open the door.
Quickly Siobhan positioned herself behind the slowly opening doors. For the first time she truly came face-to-face with Catherine Stone, the alien-captain. She looked upwards into those gorgeous, yellow eyes. Agan Captain Stone’s words were sent straight into her head, but additionally she felt an emotion, gratitude. ”Thank you, Siobhan, I will forever be in your debt for this.”
“Oh, it's nothing, you don't have to.” The doctor awkwardly shuffled her feet while blushing from the praise.
”No, I insist. You deserve a reward for your deed, which is why I’m giving you the great honor of…”
