While you have trained walking around in this odd, merged body, navigating through the trees and bushes still proved harder than expected and it took you two quite a bit of effort and coordination. But still you managed to overcome your first hurdle and reach the paved path leading out of the forest. Seeing the park’s entrance gives you a weird feeling. Even if your memory of your life before is foggy, just the thought that you wouldn't be in this situation, if you hadn’t entered this park last night, makes you ponder.
“Yeah, I know, I feel the same way,” your body partner responds mentally. “Right now I can't even remember what I would be doing instead.”
You stand there for a moment longer, ruminating on “what if?”, before you decide to–
“Sandy?! Is it you?”
Another woman suddenly runs towards you. Nothing stands out much about her appearance-wise, average figure, conservative clothes and blonde hair in a ponytail. The only noticeable feature are her red and puffy eyes, where even her thick glasses can't hide that she must've been crying not long ago.
The moment she gets close to you she gasps. “It is you! Oh my god, I almost didn't recognize you in these clothes. What happened last night? I was so worried, when you didn't return from your evening jog and nobody had heard from you.”
As she continues to list every place she has searched, you mentally ask your head, “Probably an unnecessary question, but do you know her?”
“I don't know, I can't remember,” Head responds solemnly. “But I feel something when I look at her… deep inside me… it's telling me, no, urging me to remember her, but every time I feel I’m getting close, it suddenly goes blank again…”
Before you can respond, your attention is brought to the woman in front of you again. “Sandy? Is everything alright? You haven't said a word yet.” She moves closer to you. “And… what’s up with your skin?”
The woman reaches a hand forward to cup your face. You immediately remember Agatha’s warning about not touching any other person. Mentally hearing your head still caught in an identity crisis, you decide to take matters into your own hands… eh, feet. Before she can touch your face, you take a step backwards with your body.
The woman doesn't take this reaction well, as tears are collecting in her eyes again. “Sandra? Why… What's going on? It's me, Lisa.” The expression on Lisa’s face is one of pure heartbreak. You're starting to wonder how close these two have actually been before all this happened. Lisa’s reaction also might have helped jog your partner, as she sounds to have made some small progress with remembering.
Again, the other woman tries to reach for your face and again, you back a step away. Unfortunately this time she's prepared and before you can react, reaches for your body’s unprotected hands and holds them between her own. “Please… Whatever it is, you know we can talk about it…” she sniffed.
Oh no, that's exactly what your mistress warned you about. Because of your still unstable bodies any contact with another human could have any kind of unpredictable results. Now you could only close your eyes in anticipation and hope nothing too bad is going to happen.
