With that our two objectives were clear, informing the people on the plane about the inhabitants of this island and looking for the missing woman in this so-called Golem Cave. Immediately we made preparations for these tasks… Okay, not immediately, we still took our time with breakfast. Collapsing halfway through because of hunger wouldn't do us good. As Wilka promised her version of bread tasted pretty close to the real deal, just a bit sweeter, like everything else I tasted on this island so far. And I do mean everything.
Shortly after breakfast also happened an important moment in my life, my first toilet break with a penis. I can tell you it was something. Despite studying biology I really couldn't explain how the appearance of this dick must have scrambled around my genital organs that I not only could pee through it, I had full control over whether my pee came through it or my vagina. It was just something I had to get used to. Even if we found a way from this island now, this penis would probably stay as a permanent reminder of my time here.
After collecting some supplies just in case and informing the village elder our group left the village towards the airplane wreck. When we reached the point, where the werewolf lady last saw our missing woman, we split up. Angela went with the harpy to the plane to calm down the people there. They were accompanied by Charla and the werewolf lady. The former as a quasi-ambassador of the elven village and the latter to apologize for scaring the people. This left Arwen and me to go to the Golem Cave. According to the elder the inhabitants of the cave are among the more cautious types and that a bigger group might make a wrong impression.
Our journey went by fairly uneventful as Arwen led me through even more unknown jungle woods. “No, not my top,” I whined as a rather mean branch ripped a sizable gash into its side. I still didn't know how much or even if any of my luggage aside from the clothes and backpack I’m wearing had survived the crash.
Ahead of me Arwen spoke up, “You might want to consider taking off these clothes of yours. They will probably only hinder you as we go along.”
“I told you, I’m not ready yet to become a nudist,” I replied. “How can you even walk around these woods without any protection? Not even your feet are hurting?”
Arwen stopped and cocked her head. “You know, I never thought about it. Most folks here probably haven't. Our bodies are just resilient like that so it doesn't bother us. Hmm, it could even have to do with whatever is transforming humans here.”
“So becoming an elf has at least one upside. Good to know.”
“If you become an elf,” Arwen surprisingly added.
I stopped. “Huh? What do you mean?”
“As you know we don't really know much about the transformations on this island and that includes how it is decided which race you turn into,” Arwen explained. “As far as we know it, it's completely random. Some people swear that spending much time exclusively with one race might raise the chances of becoming that race, but I also heard a story of a woman spending the whole time with the Kitsune Tribe and then becoming a bee.”
“So not even what I’ll end up as is certain,” I muttered.
“B-But don't worry, you’ll always be welcome in our home, no matter what you turn into,” Arwen blurted out. “Most tribes on this island, especially the elven village, are very accepting of all races. You’ve seen our market. Y-You could even l-life with us and nobody would complain, hehe.” Arwen suddenly turned around and continued marching forward again.
Despite her assurances I couldn't help but let all these questions swirl through my head as we walked in silence. Will I spend the rest of my potentially prolonged life on this island? What creature will I turn into? How will all the other passengers react to all that information? And did Arwen just blush?
The silence between us was starting to get awkward, so I just said out loud the first somewhat normal thing that came to my mind. “So you have human-sized bees on this island?” Thankfully that actually managed to create some more comfortable small talk between us.
Not too much later we reached the Golem Cave. Arwen warned me to be cautious as we followed the only path deeper into the cave. Unfortunately Arwen herself also didn't know much about the titular golems, so the best we could do was be prepared for the worst. After some time the tunnel opened up into a much larger chamber and there we found…
