You followed the directions that dr. Z gave you through the underground halls below the park, you could faintly hear the music above you as you walked. You decided to ignore the sound for now, you had more pressing issues on your mind.
Even with the slight calming effect of the music you were feeling anxious.
‘Could they really have deleted all my personal data?’
‘What about my family, do they even remember me?’
‘What do they believe happened to me?’
These were the thoughts that raced through your mind as you walked towards the office practically on autopilot.
Standing in front of the office you shuffle nervously not yet comfortable enough to walk in, but with nowhere else to go to at the moment.
“Dixie?” a tentative voice speaks up from your left.
You jump a little and turn to see a familiar face.
“H-Hello, Ms. Husky.” You say not quite sure how to properly address her, as that has not really been covered since you became a cartoon chicken of sorts.
She smiled and let out a small giggle as she walks closer “Milly is fine, how is your head feeling? She asks looking at the bandage with a concerned look.
“It’s fine, not hurting at all; the doctor and nurse took good care of me after I managed to calm down.” You say rubbing your arm awkwardly.
Still with the concerned look she gently hugged you and whispered, “Oh Dixie, I do apologize for what has happened to you; but that is what we hope to rectify in this meeting. Are you ready to go in?”
You hug her back feeling the warm fur and gentle embrace comforting you.
You finally break the hug and take a deep breath in and then shut your eyes and nod.
She smiled as she guided you to the door with her.
Ludwig was already in the office sitting in a comfy leather chair around a coffee table surrounded by four other chairs.
Ludwig looked up as the door opened “Welcome in ladies.” He said as he stood up from the chair and greeted Milly and Dixie as they walked in together.
“Can I get either of you a coffee or tea?”
“Sure, I will have a coffee with a little cream.” Milly said looking over to Ludwig.
“Um, tea for me please” you say feeling anxious again.
“Any particular flavor or dealers choice?” he said with his back to the both of you.
“Whatever is fine.” you say as Milly guides you over to the chairs and the both of you sit down.
He nods before walking back to the chairs with both drinks.
“Now, down to business.” He lifts his briefcase from the side of the chair he was sitting at and opens it, pulling out a couple of folders.
“We have read what snowy tigress reported, but would you be able to recount what happened yourself, just to make sure everything is accurate and we are all on the same page.” He said looking at you sympathetically as he grabbed one of his pens he had on the coffee table and one of the folders.
You take a deep breath and recount everything from winning the tickets that you suspect your brother signed you up for, to immediately running into the rabbit to the whole mistake in selection and finally the breakdown you had that lead to your first meeting.
You see him looking over a few sheets of paper and adding notes and corrections before smiling and putting the pen back on the table.
“Thank you Dixie, I know this has been hard for you and I want you to know we are grateful that you were able to bring this to our attention so early; it has helped not only you but us as well. Now I have some news for you as we were able to work on this matter while you were with the doctor.” He said with an unreadable expression.
