Miranda looked over. "They look a bit sweet on each other," she observed.
"Well, she is a bit more mature than he is, but...who are we to stand in the way of love?" Sandy said, pulling out her phone to snap a picture of the two humans being affectionate.
"I...does this seem backward to you somehow?" Miranda asked. Lilly didn't hear her, as she was focused on Jeff.
"Backward?" Sandy asked.
"I don't know...do you ever feel like...maybe we are the ones who are supposed to be that happy?"
Sandy frowned. "You mean, would I rather be running around without a care in the world? Maybe...but think about that for a minute."
Miranda thought about it. She suddenly had a vivid image of where she'd be if she was like a domesticated human. She shuddered a bit. "I guess you're right."
"That reminds me, speaking of happiness...I have to go on a business trip this weekend. Would you be able to walk Lilly?"
"Sure, Miss Perkins," Miranda said, smiling.
