Raiel carefully leaned out of the alley, making sure that the road was empty, before he walked out.
He was so caught up thinking about what he should do next, that he didn't notice that the grate at the side of the road had been removed,
until he'd already fallen into the sewers below.
Raiel emerged from the brown sludge, sputtering and gagging, frantically trying to find out how to get out.
It took a while before he was able to drag himself up on the side of one of the walkways lining the sides of the stream of sewage.
He had barely managed to pull himself up, when he heard a sound next to him.
What he saw standing beside him was a giant rat, almost 2 feet tall with bloodshot eyes.
Raiel thought that the rat wouldn't attack him because of his ability, but was proven wrong, when the creature lunged at him with bared fangs, intent on tearing the intruder apart. Raiel thought that he might be killed by the rat and desperately tried to shield himself with his arms, but soon noticed, that the rat was only tearing small off-white globs away from him.
It took him a moment to realize that the clumps were parts of him that the rat was ripping out of him.
Scared that the rat might leave him with little of his body left, Raiel decided that he had to fight the rabid creature.
He grabbed it, wrestling with it for more than a minute, before finally managing to slam it's head against the sewer wall.
Raiel stood above it's body, trembling from the shock of having killed something for the first time in his life.
He was still in shock when he heard a familiar chime and looked up to see the level up screen for the second time that day.
