Matt was a sixteen year-old boy living under odd circumstances. His mother had disappeared under mysterious circumstances over three years ago, and his father had died a month before he was even born. His mother had remarried before disappearing, and his step-father remarried a year after her disappearance to a divorced woman with 3 kids of her own. As a result, Matt was living in a family with no blood relatives, and they rarely let him forget that.
He had two step-sisters, one 13 and one 18. The younger sister was named Lisa, in middle school and had brown hair, and the older was named Ashley, in her senior year of high school, and had blond hair. His step-brother, Cody, was 20 years old, living at home and going to community college, had brown hair and was a jock. All three of them had a tendency to tease and abuse him.
His step father and mother, the 44 year-old father named Eric with brown hair and 42 year-old mother named Arial with blonde hair, didn't do much to help things.They always showed the other three children more love, though Matt's step-father was a bit more understanding than the step-mother. The father would usually be out working, but the mother was almost always home.
While looking through some of his mother's old possessions while in his room one day, Matt came across a locked box. He didn't have a key, but he really wanted to know what was inside. Breaking the lock with a hammer, he found a bracelet and a letter inside.
