As Maggie and Taylor made their way down the clearly marked blood trail, Maggie decided to find the answer to a question she had been wondering about since Taylor had told her the nature of the world they were visiting.
"How do they reproduce? I mean, without men. Parthenogenesis?" AP Biology was Maggie's favorite subject.
Taylor snorted. "Nah. Parthenogenesis is an evolutionary dead end. What happens here is that when a woman wants to conceive and has an orgasm, she copies the DNA of her partner or the nearest woman, if she's soloing, and merges it with her egg. The DNA from the partner fulfills the function of sperm--providing a new set of genes so the daughter is genetically different from both parents. Since everybody's female, everybody's double-X. It's considered common courtesy to ask your partner if she wants to donate, but it's not biologically necessary."
"Wow, cool."

The feast featured surprisingly tasty charred monster meat and a mildly intoxicating beverage. It also featured a variety of beautiful women, mostly naked in the warm climate. There was one, a lovely woman in what appeared to be her mid-twenties, that Maggie found herself exchanging glances with. Eventually, she drew near.
"My name is Agala."
"I'm Maggie."
Agala turned aside. She was clearly steeling herself. "I do not know what is your relationship with your partner. But with your permission, I would love to carry an Amazon daughter."
