Brad's voice was loud and clear as Todd carefully extricated himself from a pile of loose
and shifting components. "Hello?" Brad asked. There was a moment of silence while the
caller announced him or herself.
"No, I don't know where he is. I've been looking for him myself," Brad paused. Clearly the
caller was looking for Todd. "Unusual? Not really. His tools were scattered all over the
place when I got home; I guess that is the first time I've seen Todd do that." Another
pause while the caller interrogated Brad. Todd's curiosity was burning him up. "What? I
don't even know who you are," Brad protested, "Give me one good reason I should." Todd
was beside himself. One reason to do what?!
After a few more seconds, Brad set the phone down and Todd felt as much as heard his
giant roommate's footsteps shake the floor. After what seemed like a very long time of
listening to his heart pound in his ears, Todd heard Brad return. "Yeah, I found them.
They are definitely smaller, just like you said. You've got my attention. What do you want
me to do?" It only took Todd a moment to realize the caller had sent Brad to find his
shrunken clothes. Who was this caller?
There was some russling, and the sound of writing. "OK, I've got it all down," Brad replied.
"Right away. Thanks." Then Brad hung up.
