David looks at his options, and there were plenty to choose from. He couldn't decide where to start. There were too many possible ideas that he had thought very little about. Nothing jumped at him. Nothing intrigued him enough for him to go "Yep, I'm doing that". He had stared at the screen, rubbing his chin, occasionally looking at the clock.
The fifth time he looked at the clock, he noticed that he had only a few minutes until Jim arrived. Great. He wasted his free time. David then decided to see what he can do in the short amount of time that he had left. David noticed a timer option on the left hand side of the screen. He had little time left to decide if that was a good option so he just went for it. There was a variety of sliders and more possibilities, but David didn't have time. He just picked the RANDOM option. From there, the Chronivac asked for how long until the changeover. David thought about it and decided to spice up his work day. He had timed it so that a couple of minutes after he arrived at the personal hell that was his job at the Farm, the changes would occur in an instant. He also selected to be aware of the changes, because then what would be the point if he didn't get to see what's new.
He selected enter and as soon as he did that, Jim arrived. Much to David's dismay. He opened the door and tiredly greeted Jim.
"Howdy Davo, ya ready to start the workin' day? Hooowee, you smell awful, but hey, y'all hardly notice what's the smell of you and what's the smell of the farm when ya get there. Truck's out back, so I'll give ya one 'mo to get dressed and out there. See ya in a bit, Davo!"
Jim then rushed down stairs. No matter how many times David thought that Jim rushing down those stairs would be the death of him, Jim never managed to hurt himself once when he would do that reckless act. David got dressed and managed to at least brush his teeth before Jim started honking his truck outside repeatedly. David felt sorry for his neighbours hearing this at around 5 in the morning. They didn't need this, and David didn't need the embarrassment of it. David got in and they drove off, ready to start the work day. David didn't have the comfort of sleeping in the truck as Jim would constantly talk and talk, keeping David awake.
David hoped that whatever the Chronivac had in store, it would at least be interesting.
