A high pitched scream pierced the air of Cabin 13 as the sun began to rise.
"Its gone! Wha-how-why....its gone!" squealed a voice, ostensibly the same voice that had just screamed.
Warm under the plush cabin blankets, Todd stirred.
"Whys there a little girl in here" His sleep addled mind thought, as he adjusted the covers and sat up.
Blearily eyed, he looked around the cabin. Immediately, he noticed something....seemed off. He couldn't say what exactly, but the colors almost seemed ...brighter....more pastel. And the dust that once coated all the fixtures seemed to have vanished. Weird.
"No! No! NO! this is NOT happening to me!" came the voice again, the sound emanating from the bathroom.
Todd's ears flicked in annoyance. Blinking the sleep from his eyes, he rolled over to rouse George but noticed that Georges covers were empty.
"Where'd she run off to" He thought, not realizing the odd choice in pronouns. Rubbing his eyes, Todd slipped out of bed and screeched, his tail flicking up as he reached his small arms to the sky. Satisfied, he padded over to the bathroom to see what the problem was.
"I thought this cabin was no girls aloud" He thought, failing to analyze just how childish the thought sounded. As he approached the bathroom door, he briefly caught his reflection in a mirror mounted on the opposing wall. A beat passed, and he froze. Slowly, he turned his head and gazed at the figure in the mirror. Standing before him was not his human self, but a short, cute red fox dressed in camping gear. Atop his head was a sporty cut of brown hair that contrasted nicely with the orange of the foxes body fur.
Blinking once, Todd leaned in to get a closer look, approaching the mirror in astonishment. Slowly he moved his hand back and forth - the figure matched the movement. Glancing at his hand, he found a paw , a foxes paw.
As the door to the bathroom slowly opened, another high pitched, albeit vaguely lower, scream filled the cabin.
Todd had turned into a todd.
