When Aidan woke up the next morning, something felt off to him, but he couldnīt place it. Slowly uncurling himself he stood up, stretching his body. After half an hour of licking himself clean, he tried putting on his jeans. It was hard to do such a thing with paws, but as he had them since forever, he had only little problems pulling it up. The belt was harder, but still doable, as long as he got one of his claws (fingertips) in the right place for it. Slipping into his shirt was easier again, but he soon realized he had it on inside out. How did I get it turned this way? I will need another one he thought with a sigh, as he was unable to turn it around. He dropped it off on the bed again, before searching for one in his wardrobe. It was trickier to put on when it was folded before, but he managed it.
After relieving himself outside, like always, breakfast was another challenge. Getting a bowl of cereal was easy enough, but then opening the milk for it wasnīt. Why had he gotten that kind of cap again? It took him more than five minutes to finally get that damn thing open. He had to wait a couple of minutes for the cereal to soften enough to drink the bowl, raising it with both paws. Then cleaning the mess he had made, from both his body as well as the ground.
After breakfast, Aidan opted for a lazy day and got some movies on his laptop streaming. Placing the laptop down carefully and watching them from the carpet like always. He couldnīt get why his visitors wanted to sit on that couch, it was so uncomfortable.
It was hours later, nearing the late evening, when Mark turned up. He even brought something to eat with him for himself and Aidan. Unbeknownst to Aidan, it would be his last normal human meal, as Mark planned that change next. In an extra bag he already brought real dog food for Aidan, and placed it in the kitchen while Aidan was still distracted with his movies. They had only greeted each other.
Half an hour later, Mark had the food warmed, and being a bit lazy himself, used the chronivac to make Aidanīs portion being cut small enough for him to eat. After all, the cutlet wasnīt that small, and Mark didnīt want to see Aidan ripping it with his teeth, as he couldnīt cut it anymore. Aidanīs movie had ended, and the started to eat.
Thanks for the food, and thank you that you already cut it smaller, you know how much of a mess I make otherwise. Aidan said afterwards.
Mark grinned at him. No problem, and thatīs why I made the extra work, I know you. He chuckled a bit, before he decided on making the change now. You see, there was a reason why I made the food. I decided that it was your last human one, at least if I donīt think you earned a reward. Aidan, from now on you wonīt eat anything human without any extra permission. Instead, you will eat the dog-food I brought with me today. You will be able to open the cans alone, and eat out of a bowl you fill it into. At the same time whatever you drink will not be in a glass or cup, but also in a bowl, and normally it will be only water. Oh, and either bowl must be placed on the ground before you use it. Markīs grin widened at Aidanīs face.
Aidan looked a mix between disgusted and horrified. It took him a minute to think of something to say. Mark, why do you do that? Thatīs disgusting, I canīt eat dog-food, and you know Iīm not a dog. Please, thatīs not human
Thanks for the treat, Mark. As Aidan forgot the command was made, he suddenly saw the meal he just had as a reward, only unsure for what it was or why Mark had him sit at the table to eat it.
Mark again chuckled before saying: Itīs okay, you had earned it, and it was my pleasure. While Aidan cleared the table, Mark used the time to adjust something else with the laptop. He made sure that nobody would think Aidanīs behavior was anything but normal, but also to slowly ignore the human Aidan more and more. At least if not directly interacted with by him or Mark. Another step for Aidan to become his dog.
