When Aidan was finished in the kitchen, he laid on his carpet like always, taking a book he was reading before all this started from the table with him to read. The biggest problem he had with any kind of book or newspaper was to turn the pages with his paws, but it was doable.
Mark had finished his changes with the laptop and after looking for something else, he turned to the reading Aidan. When Aidan looked up after turning a page and noticed Mark looked at him, he sat up some more to see what he wanted to say.
Seeing he had Aidan´s attention now, Mark made his next, and last, change for today. With an evil grin, he said: “Aidan, I think it´s time for you to use your fore-paws for their main purpose, which is walking on them. Therefore, from now on, you will walk on all fours. You will still be able to stand up on your hind-legs, but it will be more comfortable for you being down on all fours.”
Aidan looked at him fearfully. “What? No, please Mark, that´s so degrading and inhuman. I know that animals with paws normally walk on all of them, but I´m not an animal. I´m still a human, even if I have four paws. Don´t do this.” Aidan was now nearly crying, fearing Mark would make him some kind of pet for himself. He had no idea how right he was, just that he wouldn´t be one right now. Soon, the memory vanished, and to Aidan it was now normal to walk on all four paws. Yes, he had trained to be able to stand up on his hind-paws to see others eye to eye, but walking on only them was so hard and uncomfortable he wouldn´t do it.
Mark, seeing Aidan relax again, grinned. “Let´s see you run, then” he thought. To Aidan, he said: “Now, if you excuse me, I will quickly use your bathroom and then go home, I need to finish something for class tomorrow.” He then left for the bathroom.
Aidan was quick to leave his flat after the bathroom door closed, and didn´t notice Mark coming back out to watch from the window how Aidan jump-walked on all fours, his legs still longer than his arms, over to the park. While Aidan did his business, Mark left the flat, running into Aidan just outside the building.
“Bye Aidan, see you tomorrow.” Mark watched amused how Aidan climbed the stairs until he vanished from view. Then, he headed home, already happy to soon have his little dog.
Aidan returned to his carpet and his book for another hour before he headed over to the bedroom carpet to sleep. It was now a bit more work to get his shirt and jeans off, with being on all fours, but as to him that had been so for a long time, he had enough experience to get it.
