Todd and George made it to the obstacle course with only minutes to spare, and the little critter kids were already lining up excitedly for their chance to run the course. When Todd and George showed up hand-in-hand, a couple of the kids giggled and started singing, “Todd and George, sittin’ in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G!”
George blushed, but Todd just laughed and leaned over to give his boyfriend a peck on the cheek. “Hop to it, cottontail,” Todd said with a grin before opening up the gate to the course and letting the kids in for the day. George nearly melted on the spot, but he managed to calm himself enough to get his job done. He put on a big smile and got to greeting all the kids as they went by, giving high fives and making jokes to get them excited for the day.
“Have fun, Chester! Try not to fall today, Molly!” he said, the names of each and every kid leaping into his memory, which was still an uncomfortable feeling to him. However, he did his best to take Alex’s advice and just ’go with the flow’ and be who the camp needed him to be for now.
Over the next hour, George and Todd’s new roles at the camp became crystal clear. Todd was a pro at getting the kids fired up and excited while keeping everyone under control. He could break up a fight without hurting anyone’s feelings and motivate even the slowest kid to keep trying his best. George found himself thinking ahead to a new future for the two of them, wondering if Todd would make a good dad to a little critter kid of their own, when the time came for them to settle down.
George easily fell into the role of the gentle caretaker of the two of them. Little injuries went with the territory at the obstacle course, and George found himself becoming an expert at treating whatever came his way. A few days earlier, the idea of dealing with a bunch of screaming kids would have made George want to jump off a cliff, but in a mere hour George became a master of bandaging skinned knees, stemming nosebleeds, and trimming up chipped claws.
Once their shift was up, Todd and George got the kids sent off to their next activities, then sat down to take a load off after working so hard. Todd leaned over and planted a kiss right on George’s muzzle, teasing him with just a bit of tongue and making the bunny teen moan happily and stomp his foot. George pressed his muzzle back into Todd, mashing their lips together as their tongues twisted around each other. “I’ve got a break after lunchtime. See you back at the cabin,” George whispered as their lips came apart, then he gently pushed Todd off from on top of him and hopped to his feet.
Todd grinned as he watched his little bunny boyfriend hop off, each step making his plump little rear end wiggle as George headed off to his next activity with the campers. George still felt a little strange just falling into line of the whatever role the magic of the camp had decided for him, but he had to admit that the parts involving him and Todd were almost making it all worth it. Todd sighed and brushed himself off before heading down the path in the other direction, thinking about the new life that him and George might lead, if they accepted the camp’s gift of a second chance at life…
