For what was supposed to be a full day, it didn't feel like one for Tina. Maybe it was the fact that her teenage daughter had decided she rather be a toddler rather than a high schooler. Or maybe one of the million other things swirling about in her mind currently that refused to give her some peace.
"Mommy!" Leah announced, waddling her way over to Tina. Still dressed in her daycare uniform, her pigtails still intact. A smile was on her face and she looked... happy. Try as Tina might to remember the last time her daughter looked anything close to that, no memory came to her.
"How was your first day, dear?" Tina remarked and grabbed hold of Leah's hand. Exiting the daycare, Leah lit up. Waving to someone, her attention returned to Tina.
"Wonderful!" Leah answered, taking the time to wave at someone else. Unlike the last time, the wave looked to be pointed towards a young girl. "I made a friend! Her name is Dani."
Tina nodded and looked to the girl. Dressed in the same uniform as Leah, her blonde hair had been done up in curls. Looked quite nice on her. Maybe she would need to try it on Leah at some point during the week. Pushing that thought out of her head, she focused on getting them over.
