Bored out of her mind, Belle decided to look through her backpack. Maybe there would be something in there that she could use to occupy herself. When she first unzipped it, she immediately spotted a few pairs of training pants. She shuddered at the sight. Hopefully she wouldn’t wind up being put in one of those.
She dug through the bag. To her delight, she came across an iPad. There were some other toys in the bag that would also be entertaining, but the iPad was the most interesting to her. Belle pulled the iPad out and started it up. Unfortunately, the iPad only had child-friendly games on it, and was clearly under the child safety settings, too. It was better than sitting around doing nothing, though.
It felt like only a few minutes had passed when the employee spoke to Belle.
“Hey, kid, it’s time for your flight.”
“Oh. Okay.” Belle put the iPad back into her backpack. A stewardess came over.
“I’m here to bring Belle to her flight.”
“She’s right here,” the employee said. Belle got to her feet. The stewardess beamed at her.
“Hello, sweetie! Time to go up in the air!” she cooed. She took Belle’s hand and brought her over to a nearby gate, where she led Belle onto the plane. “Your mommy and daddy must want to make sure their little girl has a good trip, because you’re in first class, honey.”
“Really?” Belle asked, shocked. The stewardess nodded. She brought Belle into the first class section, got her settled, and then left to help the rest of the people on the flight board.
Belle couldn’t believe her luck. Sure, she was a little girl on a plane to an unknown destination, but at least she was in first class. She happily played around with her TV screen, trying to find a movie that looked like fun to watch. After a bit of deliberation, she chose Frozen. The movie engrossed her so much that she didn’t notice when they had taken off.
