“How about I just show you?” the doctor replied as she pushed a wheelchair in front of the composite girl. They had some trouble coordinating their halves, but eventually managed to sit down. Once seated the doctor pushed them out of the room into the empty, sterile hallways of the hidden facility. They reached an elevator, where the doctor had to insert a key before pressing one of the lower buttons.
As they were going down, the doctor began to explain, “Dr. Vergunstien actually planned to also attach your other halves together and have them stay here. You would've made a great Dr. Vergunstien. Unfortunately one of you, I forgot which one, was suffering from a terrible illness. You were lucky to come here today, the first symptoms would have started showing soon. Unfortunately we still had to scrap some organs, which left us with not enough body parts for another human and looking for fitting organs would have been not worth the effort. Thankfully due to the nature of our craft we make sure that no healthy body part is wasted.” The elevator doors opened, revealing a sprawling warehouse filled with various body parts kept healthy through various means. “That's why we’ve created this body storage room. Here you’ll find various limbs and organs from various former clients and… let's say other donors.”
The girls gaped at the view as the doctor pushed them through one of the rows. Suddenly Lilith pointed forward at a glass container that held a big, round piece of flesh with a nipple. “Oh hey, that's Maria’s breast. I’d recognize those lovely apples everywhere.”
“You're right. You must’ve spent a lot of time ogling them to spot it that fast.”
Maria was the one to blush at this reveal. “Does this mean the one beside it is Lilith’s breast?” she asked while pointing at the container beside it, which held a flat piece of breast flesh.
“Yeah… it is…” Lilith said with much less of her usual energy as she self consciously put her hand on its counterpart on their body.
That's when the doctor leaned forward whispered into her ear, “You know, we tried to keep everything as evenly balanced between you two as possible, but if you want to we could still attach this fine specimen of a boob to your chest, while you're still here. Trust me, I know how you feel.”
“Uh… I… uh… will think about… this… uh… generous offer,” Lilith stuttered out.
“Anyways, you wanted to see your brains, let's get going,” the doctor announced as she increased the pace. They reached another door, where the doctor entered a password this time, and accessed another section only with several brains, all in special containers with a greenish fluid inside.
“Let's see, yours should be… here.” The doctor picked up a container and handed it over to the half-girls, who expectedly had some trouble holding it. “Don't worry too much. These are specially reinforced to keep the brains inside unharmed.” Finally managing to hold it somewhat steady the girls got a good look at the two half brains inside, swimming in the same fluid as the others.
“What are you going to do with them? I mean, they're technically us,” Lilith asked.
“They’ll stay here until we need a brain for an experiment. Of course, we’ll honor your wish and keep them together.”
“Are they aware of what's going on?” was Maria’s follow up question.
“Not exactly,” the doctor started to explain. “The fluid is a special invention that not only keeps the brains alive, but also in a dream-like state. It's as if they're sleeping, being the protagonists of their own imaginary worlds. Because they're in the same container there's also a high chance that they're experiencing shared dreams, something you two might also have to get used to, by the way. Actually, we can see what they're dreaming right now.”
The doctor pushed her patients in front of a giant screen. In the machinery below was a small indent where she inserted the brain container. The fluid started glowing, as the screen turned on, showing only static at first. “Let's see what wacky adventures your other halves are up to.”
