Settling Differences

Marty spent the rest of the afternoon pretty oblivious to his old life. After the soccer game camp activities picked back up for the afternoon and Marty and Ollie headed with the rest of their cabin to the obstacle course. George and Todd were there of course, making sure everything was running smoothly, and Marty had to admit the two really did seem to get on well together.

Todd was also a star at getting through the obstacle course, which he did for the campers after a little cheering and prodding. Of course having hands for feet and a prehensile tail helped him really shine. He hung upside down at the end of the course, his tail and both feet gripping a pull up bar as he waved to the kids before dropping down to the ground. No one cheered louder than George.

So when the campers were sent on their way, Marty decided risking hanging back. It wasn't sneaking off if he stayed with the counselors, right? He waved Ollie ahead and walked up to his brother and his boyfriend.

"Need something, squirt?" George asked, smiling as he looked at his brother.

"Yeah, can I talk to you?" Though it was Todd that Marty was looking at.

The monkey blinked a few times and nodded. "Sure thing."

"Alone?"

George rolled his eyes a little, but gave Todd a peck on the cheek before heading off to clean up part of the course leaving Todd and Marty alone.

"You like him, don't you?" Marty said, suddenly serious as he looked over to where George was.

"I do." Todd said. Marty knew Todd well enough still to know that tone of voice. Thirty years of marriage didn't fade away that quickly, though the camp was certainly trying. Todd was completely smitten, more than he had ever been with Marie.

"He's a good brother, he'd be a good dad, too." Marty said, scratching the base of one of his ears.

"Little young to be thinking of adopting. But I do hope to spend my life with him." Todd looked back at Marty and winced. "Sorry. It took me a while to figure out who you were. But honestly, I don't want to go back, apologize to our son for me?"

Marty laughed. "It wasn't going to last much longer between us anyways. And our son is that beaver that's been leading Grayson around by the nose all day. I don't think he's going back either. I don't think I'm going back for that matter. Odd we'll still be family in a way though. Brothers-in-law one day, maybe."

"So that is our Liam? I thought it might.. but I couldn't make it work in my head." Todd chuckled. "I guess he'll be fine. So we're good?" The monkey looked at the younger rabbit, almost thinking of him as his own little brother now through George. It was getting harder and harder to keep the conversation going as if they were their old selves. He figured by tomorrow morning it would be near impossible.

"We're good." Marty confirmed. Then turned to catch up with the rest of the group, his quick hops catching him up to the rest of his cabin before they had even made it halfway to the next station.

"What was that about." George asked as he stepped up besides Todd, watching his brother bound off.

"Oh you know, the usual. What are your intentions with my brother, and if you hurt him I'll make you regret it." Todd put his arm over George's shoulder.

"I'm the older brother, I'm supposed to give his boyfriends that talk, not the other way around." George still managed to sound amused as he leaned against his monkey. "After camp is over... why don't we take a trip back to my parents' house before we go back to school. I want to introduce you to them, and the rest of my siblings."

"Is it really meet the family time?" Todd asked as he looked at the rabbit. "We haven't been together that long."

"No, we haven't." George agreed. "But I'm positive you're the one I'm going to grow old with anyway. Now come on, help me get the course back together before the next group gets here."

"Lotta years before we have to bring old into it, fluffbutt." Todd let George pull him back over to the course and the two got back to work.
