While she was deciding, Selina heard further announcements indicating a full lockdown was being put in place. Selina reasoned that meant she needed to be able to sneak around long enough to establish a cover that will sustain herself until the hospital lowered its guard. She also needed to go further than anyone who might anticipate her ruse would think anyone would be willing to go.
The logic felt right. Playing it safe was a just going to lead to her being put in jail, or juvie. That meant she'd just have to gamble on her client finding a way for her to reverse her change. She's always cheated the odds before, so this time won't be any different.
Selina quickly stripped off her clothes and dumped them down a garbage chute. She then grabbed clothes for her intended size and took one of dozens of identical stuffed bears. After taking the pills she'd need, Selina stashed the bottle and flash drive inside.
Before she could second guess herself, Selina swallowed 16 pills. Almost immediately, a sense of complete vertigo overwhelmed her. Unable to maintain a sense of equilibrium, she collapsed to the ground. The changes were quick as she felt her limbs retract and baby fat fill in.
After catching her breath, she climbed to her wobbly legs. Looking herself over revealed nothing but the body of a normal 2 year old. There was no hint of her true age to be seen anywhere. Even her mouth now seemed to contain only a partial set of baby teeth.
Forcing herself to focus, Selina taped on the diaper she had set aside. It had been a long time since she babysat and her limbs didn't quite agree with her, but she managed to get it snug in place. The hospital gown was easier, she had already tied the strings on the back so it was a simple matter to slip it on.
The baggy gown decorated with rubber duckies made her feel even smaller, which, while unsettling, was perfect. There's no way anyone would suspect her now. Well that is if she managed to finish phase 2 of this plan. She needed to sneak over to a computer, sign herself in as a patient, and print a wristband. Then she could safely ride out the search.
