Alex looked off down the street then back to the man in front of the brothel. Was he really in such a rush? Certainly getting information could wait for a little bit. He plucked a couple of coins out of his pouch and held them out. The man took them with a wide smile and handed Alex a wooden coin in return, the chit he guessed. It had a mark carved into it. The man opened the door and waved Alex to walk inside.
He stepped into a room that was like nothing he had experienced before. A heady scent hung in the air, some sort on incense wafting from burners around the room. Lamps hung, but the light was a little dim, though it showed a room decorated in plush furniture and swaths of fabric. People lurked around the room in various states of dress, though none were completely naked, some were very close. A number of men and women around the room wore the gold bracelets that marked them as employees.
A large muscular wall of a man in the same leather pants that the man outside was wearing passed Alex and stepped out. "Thanks for covering, Ran."
"Sure thing." The other man said before coming inside, slowing as he passed Alex. "Don't be shy." He grabbed Alex's hand and guided him over to a couch. Ran lifted his hand in the air. "Jero, two glasses of my usual for me and my new friend, I'll get the first round. So, then, what's your name?"
"Alex." Alex took another look at Ran. He was well-muscled but lean, his black hair slicked back and the bit of black hair on his chest and stomach was neatly trimmed down. With the careful grooming on the rust of him, the rugged scruff must have been intentional.
Another man, this one wearing nothing more than a leather thong the hid basically nothing came over with two glasses of red wine. He winked at Alex. "Don't let Ran here strong arm you, he tends to pick more than let himself be picked."
Ran just smiled and took the glasses, handing one to Alex. Jero didn't hang around long and Ran took a sip of his drink, motioning for Alex to join him. "I do so like.. red." He reached out and ran a finger through the red hair on Alex's chest.
Alex gulped, Ran was so distracting he had forgotten his purpose for coming in here. So he let his eyes wander across the room. Though he new the man might become annoyed if he took too much attention off of him. "What else do you like?"
"Why? Curious how to win my favor?" Ran said, sitting on the couch next to Alex, letting himself get close enough that he could feel warm flesh pressed up against him. "I like men and redheads, so you have two. And you don't seem like an asshole, so three."
"Really? That's it?" Alex tried to sound skeptical to prod an answer out of the man.
Ran pursed his lips and nodded over to the other side of the room where a man sat with two women. He was a well-built man, his muscles sculpted into what Alex would have described as model worthy. His clothes were finer than Alex had seen, too, with embroidery and decoration on them. The man's blond hair was swept back out of his face, his full beard neatly trimmer. He was extremely attractive and he knew it, with his square jaw and high cheekbones. He was fondling the two women hanging on him, almost aggressively. One was fondling what looked to be a rather large package through the front of his pants.
"Corren." Ran said with a touch of disdain. "Son of the wealthiest merchant in town. Blessed with good looks, a hot body, and a giant dick. Comes here every day and acts an ass. Some days he gets kicked out, but his money will never see him permanently banned. Never underestimate not seeming like an asshole. He's also not a red head."
Maybe that was exactly who he was looking for. He looked at Corren and wondered what he could take from him. The choices were almost endless, but he could only do one thing.
