You see the new student come in. She was a rather small and lithe girl dressed in a girl’s sailor uniform that looked a little too big on her. She looked to be Japanese, but her green eyes definitely said she had a little European in her genes. She had long blue hair that flowed down to her knees and looked like it was as soft as silk. The strangest thing about her, however, was the fact that she had cat ears, and a tail. You could even see whiskers on her cheeks if you looked closely. She had a huge smile on her face and seemed to have trouble standing still.
You homeroom teacher, Mr. Akira, strode into the room soon after, showing no indication that he noticed the new girl’s animal attributes. “Class,” he announced, “This is our new transfer student Nanako Ryoma. She’s here all the way from Osaka, Japan. Be patient with her now, she’s just learned English.”
“Nya~! Arigato gozaimasu, Akira-Sensei,” Nanako bowed, speaking in an overly bubbly voice, “Hi hi! I’m Nanako-chan, nya~! I hope I get to make lots of friends here in America! Pleased to meet you, nya~!”
She seemed to have a tendency to meow a lot in her scentences. This is ridiculous! You felt like you were in the middle of some bad anime fanfic.
“Nyo~? Uh, Akira-sensei, where does Nanako-chan sit?” the new girl asked.
“You’re assigned to sit to the left of Mr. Doe,” the teacher explained. With a bow and another thank you, the new girl hopped over to her seat, right next to yours. She sat as though she were a cat, and started grooming herself as if she were one. You watched her ear twitching and her tail flick as you came to grips with the fact that a cat girl was in your class.
You just hoped that no one would be allergic to her, otherwise she was probably done for.
