Just before you round the corner, away from the milk machine and the cow it was attached to, the sounds of suction ended. Your brief anxiety immediately abates as the machine seemed to power down and the cow went back to wandering. You still weren’t sure if it’d turn back on, but it seems this combination would knock out at least one pursuer for more than a couple minutes.
You look down at your watch. A measly 52 minutes had passed. You needed more perks, so you could convert them into saved time at least. Checking through more rooms, you managed to find another four cows, bringing you down to a mere two cows remaining before your bonus perk.
However, your search found something far more interesting than another cow. It was another stall, but this had a different line of text: “trap (1) cow and (1) bull in stall for perk.” You could guess what’d happen if you did that, but maybe this was the game’s way of teaching its players that forcing enemies together causes one or both to be taken out of commission.
It was easy enough to lead a cow to the stall. They weren’t aggressive and leading one by the horn seemed to work well enough. The challenge was getting a bull in here. You hadn’t been chased by a bull yet, but you could imagine there’d be some differences.
One thing you realized is that you hadn’t seen a bull sitting in any rooms, yet. Were bulls exclusively on the prowl? You didn’t want to wander too far from the bonus room, but you also didn’t want to wait too long, in case one of those milk machines patrolled your way.
With great care for which corners you turned, you began hunting for bovines in the hallways. It didn’t take long to find one. Unlike the cows, these bulls were noticeably larger than their cow counterpart, and this one was a single shade of black. Knowing what was bound to happen next, you quickly go over your path back to the room in your mind, get near the corner, and shout for the bull’s attention.
When it locked eyes and started moving forward, you begin your sprint back to the room, but you quickly realize the bull can handle corners far better than the cow could. It practically veers off the wall while maintaining its impressive speed in hunting you down.
The panic of losing to a bull after milking so many cows gave you a burst of adrenaline. As you get closer and closer to the room, you realize the bull is definitely going to catch you before you reach the place. You had to do something -- anything -- to avoid this loss condition!
The bull rammed around the latest corner. Instead of trying to outrun it, you turn to face the hulking animal. It continues its lust-filled rush toward you, but at the last moment you dive to the ground, crumpling yourself against the wall as best you could. The bull started to change trajectory, but it was zoomed past, narrowly avoiding your body
Thankfully, the bull still had the same issue as the cow when it came to stopping in a straightaway, and its sheer bulk made turning around in the corridor an even bigger affair. You make an internal note of how to protect yourself from the bulls, then double back so you could dodge the bull a second time to get between it and the room.
It thankfully worked. With the extra space, you manage to reach the stall. Another fortunate effect was the bull immediately switching targets to the cow once he entered the room, making it much easier than expected to shut the gate and escape. As the bull mounted the cow, you received a similar ding, and another floating cube. Upon selecting it, the voice in your head said the following:
“Congratulations! You may choose to remove 4 hours from the exit timer, or gain the following perk:
Calf costume: Receive the calf costume, making bulls non-aggressive and cows more aggressive. This will replace any existing outfits.
Please state ‘accept’ within 10 seconds to receive this perk.”
