Gloria thought for a bit, then tapped Rosa's antennae. *You know what, I don't know if I'm ready to explore the big world of the resort just yet. But...*
*But?* Rosa's antennae quivered with excitement.
*I'd love to see what the other guests are up to. They can't all have decided to become roaches like us.*
*That's the spirit. Trust me, it's very entertaining.*
*You've done this before haven't you.*
There was a timid pause. *Yes.*
Another pause, before Gloria tapped out. *You're a pervert. And I'm saying that in the best way possible.*
*Hehe. Thanks.*
*So. What do we do?*
Rosa scuttled in a circle before contacting Gloria again. *Let's wait until some people walk in and see where they go. Better than checking every door. That way we'll be sure to watch the show from the beginning.*
*You're on.*
Another blinding burst of speed, and the two cockroaches zoomed for the hallway entrance. It was updated up to the main track for the resort tram, and that way they'd be sure to catch any newcomers. Gloria huddled close to Rosa as they waited, finding the male roach's presence comforting.
They didn't have to wait long. The tram stopped, and two people, a man and a woman, got off. They were holding hands and, judging by their twentysomething age and their wedding rings, were here on honeymoon. The man looked to be 5'7'' and had a scrawny build, with pale skin; combined with his neat blonde hair and green eyes, he was quite striking. And rather cute, thought Gloria. For a human. The woman, on the other hand, was 5'1'' and his polar opposite - full-figured, wide-bodied, dark-skinned, with gentle brown eyes and thick, medium-length brown hair. Her partner had a big smile on his elfin face, while she looked apprehensive about the whole business.
*Jackpot*, said Rosa triumphantly. *Newlyweds are the best*. He tapped Gloria excitedly. *Come on, let's see where they go.*
They followed the couple as they walked down the hallway. Gloria couldn't hear most of what they were saying because of their distance and movement, but she managed to deduce that their names were Brent and Kayla.
The young couple's door turned out to not be very far, and the two roaches quickly slipped under the door as they followed. Fortunately the two humans were too preoccupied with each other to notice the insects on their tail.
Once in, Gloria and Rosa found room under a chair to hide and watch. And listen. For the moment, not all seemed to be well.
"I don't know..." said Kayla. She sat down heavily on the bed, fidgeting nervously. "I'm... you know, now that we're here, I'm not so sure about this after all. It all seems kinda... weird".
"Come on honey, it can't be that bad", said Brent. He was already looking through the vials, bottles, sprays, and powders on the shelf in the room. If Kayla seemed uncertain, Brent was positively oozing with excitement. "And nothing bad can happen! Remember, any damage you take will make you reform at the Regeneration Spa, completely unharmed! You literally can't get hurt".
Kayla shuddered. "No, you CAN. You have to get hurt to regenerate".
"Aw, stop being such a scaredy-cat. Why don't you try one of them?"
Kayla cringed, withdrawing back on the bed. "Or how about YOU try one of them first?"
Brent smiled wickedly, and Rosa and Gloria watched, enthralled.
