It took two days of stumbling nearly naked through the cold forest, but finally Brian came to a cliff where the Shrine of Kar lay. He recognized all the landmarks from what he had read, and soon found a narrow path that led to the door in the cliff that was the shrine's entrance.
Brian carefully walked down the path, eager to enter the shrine, but also wary, lest danger be near. Brian heard movement and froze, holding very still, listening intently with his fine elven ears. It almost sounded like voices. Cautiously, he crept forward, until he came to a leafy bush, which he hid behind. Peering around it, he saw the door.
