Hidden behind a bush, Brian looked at the temple entrance. He saw no guards of any sort. Cautious to a fault, he remained still for an hour, just to make sure. In his current state, he was in no shape to fight off any guardians, he reminded himself.
Finally satisfied that the temple was truly unguarded, Brian crept forward, silently making his way toward the large door. Cautiously, he pulled on it, trying to remain silent. The door did not budge. He began to pull harder and harder, worried that his current position was quite exposed.
At last, as he put all of his meager eighty pounds behind his pulls, the door creaked open. Brian glanced around, looking and listening for any sign that something had noticed him. When he saw nothing move, and heard no footsteps, he dashed into the temple, pulling the door closed behind him.
