Marcia remembered walking past a nursery. She should be able to find some clothes that fit her there. Dragging her bag behind her, she made her way to the nursery she had come across before. She pushed the door open. Clearly, the nursery hadn’t been used in a while. Hopefully, there would still be something available.
After setting down her bag, Marcia walked over to a dresser. She pulled open one of the drawers. She sighed in relief. The drawer was full of toddler clothes that would fit her. They looked to be for boys, but at this point, she would take what she could get.
“Underwear…” Marcia muttered to herself, looking for something to put on under the clothes. Unfortunately, there wasn’t any underwear anywhere. The closest thing she could find was a package of disposable diapers. She wrinkled her nose, disappointed. “Guess I’m getting diapered.”
Marcia removed one of the diapers and clumsily taped it on. With that done, she dressed herself in a T-shirt and patterned overalls. Curious as to how she now looked, Marcia went to a mirror, now toddling from her diaper. She looked at her reflection. As she watched, the clothes began to glow. When the glow faded, Marcia’s reflection was the same, with the exception that her long hair had become a pixie cut.
She marveled at how toddlers were so gender neutral that a mere haircut made her look like a boy.
“Dat weiwd,” she said out loud. Her eyes widened. Mere moments ago, she had been able to speak perfectly fine. But now, she was talking like an actual toddler. The clothes must have been cursed in some way. Dread building, she took off her overalls and pulled back her diaper. “Damn!”
Apparently, dressed in boy’s clothes was the wrong choice, because Marcia was now a boy. He swore a few more times, then redressed. It felt weird referring to himself as Marcia, so until he could get back to normal, he decided to think of himself as Marshall instead.
Marshall grabbed his bag and exited the nursery.
