By grade 5 Jennifer was doing well in her extra curriculum activities. Becoming a prime goalie in hockey, a flexible tumbler in gymnastics, and a good piano player.
Her mother, Susan, decided that a 9 years old now would be a good time to take Jennifer from the year long public school and enroll her in a standard year private boarding school. This one from September to June.
Jennifer packed up her things and Susan drove her. The school focused on small class sizes and students with prominent interest in the arts and sciences.
Once there Jennifer received a tour, showing off their classes, library, computer hall, music hall, and recreational areas. The recreational area included such places as a pool, equestrian centre, gym, and sports fields.
She enjoyed most of the year. Learning more about the relationship of rhythm, melody and chords from her time in piano lessons, electricity, magnetism, and weather in science, and the distortion effect in art. Her school taught options courses and Jennifer picked up sewing and astronomy.
Her piano tutor came to the school to continue her lessons. Jennifer continued her time in hockey and gymnastics at the school. In addition she picked up an enjoyment for horseback riding, and joined the astronomy club.
While Jennifer enjoyed her time at the school, and uniform was nice, she did miss her Mother Susan and her old friends. She sent them letters and when she went home in June she made sure to spend more time with them.
