The screams could be heard for at least a mile. Alex was sure of it. He had walked down into the main room of the tavern. There was a small party going on down there with some kind of games being played. No one noticed him at first but then he tore the bartenders throat out which soaked three men in blood. Not to mention himself. Two of the men attacked him immediently. Alex figured these two were proably guards from the castle. He would need one of them alive.
The guantlet had given Alex's dark side much power and opened up a way for it to freely express itself. Alex still truly believed none of this was real so he had no remorse for anyone he killed. Inside he was truly a monster. Somthing that nightmares were made out of. It was only becuse of some strange code which bound him to morals and chivilry in the real world that he never acted like this there, but now he felt free playing in his mind. He was only too wrong.
One by one the men fell. Some tried to fight but the guantlet acted on its own slashing through meat and bone all in the same motion. some who tried to run made it to the door before Alex found the gauntlt had another ability. With his hand outstretched he launched a dark bolt of mystical energy which fried the head off of one woman.
The air was almost filled with a thin blood mist which covered everything. everyone was dead. Alex was soaked in the entrails of those he had slaughtered. It was definetly time to move on. He walked out of the building like one might leave a movie theatre with the slight disconnected look and the sudden realization that the word out here is different then the one in there. "What do I need now. Ah I know I will need armour to look presentable at the castle in the morning."
Alex began searching the town for a guard that wouldn't be killed so easily.
