“Clyde c’mon!” Juliet said, bouncing in her usual impatient manor,
“Yes, yes, I’m coming,” Clyde said, exiting the car. He stepped onto the hot sidewalk and wiped his forehead, “so how long do we plan on being in here?” Clyde asked the group,
“As long as we want, there’s no entry fee or anything!” Juliet said, still failing to stand still. Her boyfriend, Kelly, stood calmly. He was wearing sunglasses, a white t-shirt with no text on it, shorts, and sandals.
Kelly didn’t say a word, he was smirking however.
“Clyde it’s gonna be fun, plus, think of all the candy. We all know how much you love candy,” Jane said, grabbing a backpack from the trunk of the car. She closed it, waiting for Clyde to close his door. He did, she locked the car right after.
Almost immediately Juliet started speeding towards the shop. Clyde, Jane and Kelly walked next to each other, in front of them, acting in her usual ditsy yet playful way.
As they slowly approached the shop, the group started to realise what all the hype was about. It was a bright, colourful, and fun looking building. It was attractive, endearing. It made them much more excited to actually be there, except for Juliet. Juliet was already at maximum excitement.
They found the entrance, there was a small queue before entering. Standing by that door was a man. He had a uniform decorated with the six colours of the rainbow, all a shade that reminded the group of candy.
“Some great marketing, I’m almost salivating already,” Jane said to Kelly, to which he responded with a light exhale through his nostril. This was usually the extent of his replies.
They followed Juliet into the line, she was already in it, standing on her toes in eagerness.
Clyde didn’t really know what to think, he was surprised he had let his friends take him here, but he enjoyed spending time with them. He had had a... little event, when it came to candy. He didn’t like to get into it, but around eight months ago, he got into a super sugar rush and went totally crazy for the night. Nobody remembers it too well, more so the idea of the night. No one except for Juliet.
“So, you understand the rules in here?” The man at the door asked, looking at the group,
“Yep!” Juliet answered eagerly,
“The rest of you?” He asked,
“We understand: don’t steal, don’t eat, drink, or consume any products outside of the designated zones,” Clyde replied,
“That’s it, I hope you all enjoy your time inside Alaska Blair’s Unusual Candy Store!” He said, opening the doors for the group to enter. They all shuffled inside and looked around.
“Oh my god,”
