Alice and Jim had been talking for a few minutes and getting to know each other. Jim was thinking it was going quite well, except for the last couple of minutes when he had to keep shifting his position on the donkey pool toy to find a comfortable position. It seemed that every-time he found one, it would quickly become uncomfortable. He tried to hide this the best he could, he didn't want to lose the chance to keep talking with Alice.
Jim suddenly felt sick and leaned against the donkey's neck and head, his own head swimming. Alice leaned forward in concern and didn't see the small nub of growth at the base of Jim's spine.
"I-I don't feel so good." Jim said, sickly.
"Let's get you inside and laying down." Alice took charge, feeling anxiety at this nice guy she just met. Alice wrapped an arm around Jim's back and paddled them both over to the side of the pool. After many squeaks, Alice managed to get off the pool toy and onto the tiled pool side. Jim weakly helped Alice pull him off the toy and onto the tiles.
Jim felt motion sick, like he was going to throw up. The nub at the base of his spine had lengthened a little, but not much, and Jim's skin color was changing, becoming darker.
With Alice's support, Jim made it into Tom's house and onto a bed in one of the rooms. Laying down felt much better. Alice went back outside to get some drinks and food for both of them.
