Nora had to take a chance, she couldn't afford to get any younger. She managed to reach for the watch and toss it behind her, hoping that the movement wouldn't disturb anything. She also had to hope getting rid of it would not cause her to change. Of course, this made a sound.
Nora heard someone else enter the room and the voice of Amy's father, Michael, say, "Did you find anything that could have made that noise over here?"
"No Dad nothing fell in here," the voice of Amy responded and followed up with, "I thought my wardrobe was closed though, but it was open when I came in."
"That's wierd," Nora tensed as this new information was considered, "I thought I heard if from the closet."
Nora felt her heart leap in her throat as the closet doors swung open. There was a panicked second, as she saw Amy staring straight at her. But then the girl shrugged and swung it clothes. "I think just one of my old clothes boxes fell down. Its not a problem."
"Ah, well okay pumpkin. Just be sure to put it back later." The father said.
"Sure, Dad."
A moment later their footsteps disappeared. Nora breathed at last...though her heart was pounding. She'd just barely slipped past there, or at least it seemed so. Why Amy would ignore her if she saw her was weird, but then again the boxes might have hidden her well enough.
She had been so focused, she wasn't sure if she'd shrunken. She hadn't felt anything. Moving carefully she stood up....
